That is sweet. I'd pop for one for my Miata and I never spend money on bling (or any other modification for that matter)

About 5 years back a guy had a lime green stubby handle on his Prelude, in "Honda Tuning Magazine". He custom made it...a pretty cool idea at the time.

They do look cool, although they are shaped for turning screws, not shifting gears. 2nd to 3rd powershifts are difficult enough with a good knob. Also, the packaging looks chinese. I doubt these are made by Snap-On.

Quite funny. I bought a softgrip 24" 1/2 breaker bar on ebay a while back and the handle was in rough shape so I got a new handle from Snap On and I actually have the old one in my Honda as the shift knob. I didn't even know they licensed such a thing.

I looked into having my friend ship me some awhile back.. I forget what ever happened but we just didn't do it. They also make faucet knobs for like a bathroom sink and key holders.

I took a palmrat ( 3/8 palm ratchet ) and welded a 3/8 deep 3/4 sfs241 to the end of a stick shift on a custom ride and attached the palm ratchet to the end of the socket... Looked pretty sweet... Comfort grip that you could spin either direction....

While an interesting mod for a pick up truck, you wouldn't catch a shifter like that in my car. If your really going to be banging gears, you need a real shifter made of metal. I wouldnt trust that plastic handle for dragstrip powershifting duty, but i'm sure it would work for general street shifting.

They are comfortable to wear when installing your winker lights. :lol_hitti

I love engrish... the Japanese will print stuff in Engrish even. Its quite funny.

Actually if you look at some of the Japanese tuner mags (Drift Tenguko, Option, etc) you see these guys working on cars wearing flip flops and stuff. It baffles me.. I value my toes too much for that!

I was stationed in Japan in the 70's, even the welders wear flip flops. They had leather welding boots that had a split toe for the flip flops. We called them Bullwinkle Boots.

I worked in Japan for over 3 years, a great place, expensive, but great! One thing that the restaurants could never figure out, is that we expected free refill for our coffee with our meals.

The shift knobs are kind of cool but they look like the the wrong shape to be comfortable to use for a manual, would be ok for an automatic I guess.

Maybe they are Japan " OSHA " aproved sandals....

its interesting that the handles themselves have USA printed on them, but the packaging reads Product of Japan.

The shape of a shifter handle and resultant comfort has more to do with positioning than anything else. An old truck, where the shifter is down low and needs a long push with the palm to reach third gear, the OEM flattened ball is perfect. On a sports car such as a Miata where the shifter is almost a toggle switch operated by wrist action and is up at elbow height, the screwdriver handle shape might be a good idea.

thnx, jack vines
