are there any snap on dealers here that would sell me some of the "redline" hand soap?
this soap may go by a different name than "redline"
i work afternoons and the snapon dealer for my area will not stop in the afternoons for whatever reason
i have looked at the snapon website and the only way they sell this soap is by the case either 12 bottles or 4 big bottles
anyone who has ever used this hand cleaner knows it will get your hands cleaner than anything else.... good stuff
send me a P M thanks .......
nitro gold is the name , maybe redline is the same thing ?

Where are you? I bought a case and dispenser for home use 3 years ago. I'm about halfway thru the 1st bottle. Still have 3 bottles under the sink.

Is it better than Goop? That Goop stuff doesn't work worth a $hit.

I never was a big fan of Goop either. It seemed to turn to liquid in the opened can faster than Go-Jo.

I like two different brands for two different applications.

Fast Orange with grit if water is available for rinsing. And, REGULAR old Go-Jo if water isn't available.

It's gotten real hard to find the "regular", "classic", "original", Go-Jo. There must be a dozen different flavors now. Their new offerings mostly smell like they belong in a cat house or a ****** bar.

Anyone use the Wurth stuff? If so, is it any good? It's supposed to be formulated so the abrasives don't clog the sink. I'm just using soap and borax, which does clog eventually. But it's cheap. Wurth rep. tried to sell me this stuff, but I'm pretty careful these days with what I buy.

GOOP dries my hands out and then I end up getting spits around my fingernails. Everytime I use it, it happens. At work all I use is Boraxo. Gets the dirt out but does not dry my hands out. One person on here was selling a soap called Bear Paw. I got a sample and tried it. Not too bad, but then I ordered some for work and also have some more at home. I really like it. Seem like it has Boraxo in it, smells good, and WILL remove all traces of grease from the hands no matter how long it's been ground in.
I'll have to ask my nephew if he uses the Snap-On stuff as he is a die hard SO person. If so, I'll give it a shot. I'm always looking for something better.

I got a sample sized bottle of Snap-On Nitro Gold Hand Cleaner at a car show and I love the stuff. The problem is where do I get another bottle? I figure two or three of the sample sized bottles would last me a few years. Has anyone found a source for single bottles of this stuff? There's no way I'm buying a case of it from Snap-On.

I'm with Kevin. Good old Boraxo is what I use. Easier on the hand and if I missed a spot after rinsing, I can always use more powder. A lot of hand cleaners don't work as well if your hands are already wet.

Tide powder soap and warm water is what I have always used... saw a crew at the Indy500 one year use it and that's what I've been using ever since.

^^ that works really well but you have to wash your hands after as it leaves a film and can burn something fierce with any open cuts. It'll get the dirt off for sure though.

Ask a local tech to get a bottle for you. I have a dispenser at the sink and on the wall in the garage and use Nitro Gold in both. Doesn't dry out your hands and gets them as clean as anything I have ever tried.

I honsetly think Wurth is total useless,The cheapest and best hand cleaner I ever used is what I use daily is washing up a spoonful liquid & a tea spoonfull of sugar gets rids of toughest of oil & dirt stain only things it dosent remove rough skin & scars you may have

The OEM brand cleaner available from Autozone is manufactured by the same company that makes the Snap On branded hand cleaner. US company, great product.

I use Fast Orange with pumice for the worst stuff, but often follow up with liquid Soft Soap. Another cleaner which is easy on the hands is Joe's Hand Cleaner with lanolin.

x100 for the snapon nitro gold! I kept a bottle in my box when working as a tech for those jobs that were really nasty. The cheapo citrus pumis soap provided wouldn't take oil from oil changes off that well, let alone real grease from front end work.

Sky Systems Power Scrub, we use it at work and it's the best I've ever used.

Strong enough to get some NASTY stuff off, but doesn't rip up your hands. I have to wash multiple, multiple times per day, and still doesn't kill my hands. It uses plastic bits instead of pumice, so it's gentle but still gets the grime.

You'll most likely have to source at a janitorial supply.

The box and dispenser are about two feet long and weigh about 20lbs, but I'd say that one box would last one guy more than a year, possibly years.

Also, the dispenser is the ONLY heavy duty scrubber dispenser I've seen that doesn't fail, and doesn't clog.

There's 2 cleaners I've found that are better than any other I've tried, and I've tried a bunch.

One is Joe's Hand Cleaner with recycled plastic 'grit' in the blue bottle. Bonus: Smells like Banana Cream Pie.

New one I found that amazed me, and I've only found it at one place (Napa) is Gojo Premium in the silver bottle. Instead of saying it takes care of oil/paint/dirt it says grease, tar, etc.. It looks like Alien ***** but works amazing.

I can't imagine soap being a good buy off a Snap-On truck. Maybe I'm wrong.

We use the Cherry soap made by Hill MFG (they make Hilco lube too) at work. Whenever a bottle gets near empty, it won't pump, so I take it home instead of trashing it. Stuff works better than any other type pumice soap I've used, ever. Can't beat free.

I know this is and old thread but...

I own a shop and have tried all the hand cleaners that I can think of and there was a few that I had not tried on this post.

I have been using the snap on cleaner for a long time. I like it but it is expensive off the truck. So i did a bit of research and found this...

http://www.northwoodstm.com/

or

http://www.woodbineproducts.com/

I have not checked the price and I'm sure my snap on guy will be angry that he may lose me to the web but that is the nature of the business.

You have to get the Green Stuff from them, that stuff is great. The other one they sell *****.
I use it and the nitro gold, both are about the same, maybe slight edge to wurth. It is far less gritty than nitro, but cleans just as well and doesn't clog the sink.

fast orange at the kitchen sink, then I do dish soap afterward as I hate the feel of anything on my hands except grease.

cherry bomb at the bathroom sink. second best at the second most used sink.

goop in the basement and a can of working hands to use afterward. I use it mostly to put on laundry stains rather than a hand cleaner but of the 3 it's the best to use without water. If I need to rinse I have a spray bottle with purple power nearby. usually I just wipe then towel it off.

Every place I have ever worked where there is a need for a hand cleaner like these, it's always mounted on the wall and replaced by a vendor that brings other supplies for the building like paper towels, etc. All the tool box photos here I don't see anyone mounting a dispenser to their box or locker so I'm guessing this is sold in a squeeze bottle like hand lotion? or a pump bottle and I have somehow missed it in all these years?

Answer was in the post right above yours. Its made by Woodbine and also sold as PK SOYL. They don't appear to have much online distribution though.

If you want a cheaper and excellent hand cleaner get some Kresto. Uses crushed walnut shells as pumice and doesn't dry out your hands or make you smell like some disgusting candy chemical either.

Finally, someone mentioned Kresto. The metal supplier I use has that in the bathrooms. It makes everything available at the auto stores and HD seem like junk. You can wash with the others and then use this and be surprised at what the others left behind.

Zep cherry bomb is good stuff, but its hard to get it around here for some reason.

Most of the parts places here sell zep, though its not always out for display. They even sell cherry, but not cherry bomb.

Its not the same product. Its not bad, better than the gojo and similar stuff I call dirt polish.

Lots of people seem to like gojo and fast orange or whatever and say how wonderful it is. I can only conclude they have never actually tried the Zep stuff and in particular not the cherry bomb.

The Snap On redline is even better, but costs more than twice as much.

When I can find Cherry Bomb its like $27 a gallon, Redline is $33 for a half gallon.

I'm not sure it actually works that much better, kind of hard to quantify, It is better if used properly, but I don't think its twice as good.

Another problem is you don't need very much, even if you are really dirty. But I work in a shop and hand cleaner becomes community property pretty fast, and when its not your hand cleaner its easy to use more than you need. Same deal with the Cherry Bomb, but at more than double the price it becomes more of an issue.

I just end up charging the shop for it, when I remember anyway.

I have a bottle of redline at work and a bottle at home right now, used to keep a gallon of cherry bomb in both places but since I can only find the regular cherry I switched to the Redline.

An issue with the Cherry Bomb, actually all of the zep stuff is that the pumice likes to settle in the bottom of the bottle. Its too thick to shake up, and can't really stir it up as the jug has a hole the size of a milk jug.

The last shop I worked at, and still go back and visit from time to time has the wall dispenser for it, that helps a lot.

The Redline doesn't seem to have that issue, I have never seen it separate.

Now that I think about it, a Zep representative did come by and talk to me about their products a couple of years ago, seems like he said he could get me a case of 4 gallons of actual Cherry Bomb and a dispenser for $105?, or was it $120 - forget exactly.

I will have to see if I can find his card. At the time I was getting cherry bomb from Napa for $27 as I needed it and didn't seem like enough of a deal to justify buying a whole case at once. Now that I can only find regular cherry it would be worth it.

If I remember correctly what he told me was that the cherry bomb is aimed at professional shops/industry and the regular cherry is for general consumers, along with the orange and I think some other color/smell.

Napa must have got a couple of cases of cherry bomb instead of just cherry, or they were selling me what they had for their own use, not sure what was up there, but I know they ran out.

I use Gojo or Fast Orange with pumice at work and home. I don't have a sink down in my garage, but that stuff works so well, I just pump a few shots in my hands, rub together a bit and wipe off with towel. I'd say 95% of the grease and stuff is gone by doing that. Usually only a few dark spots in my knuckles remain.
