Question for you guys. What is the best way to go about removing a soft handle from a screwdriver to replace it with a hard handle? I have been thinking about this and cant come up with a way to pull the 2 pieces apart without marring them up.

Put the blade in a vise and use a prybar to push the handle off the blade. That's how my dealer does it.

Here is a shot of the logo. There were 4 flat handles and 3 phillips in the pack, all for $99.

the 99 is a special promo price. Not everyone will get them at that price. The dealer must pre order a certian number to get them at that price.. so if your dealer tells you 129 do not Jump all over him for it. Just be thankful that you are not paying 200+ off ebay.

finally ran into and met the local dealer on my way home to lunch today. Asked him about the hard replacement handles and he was told that only the orange ones were available for him to order so far - right up my alley!. I thought that was odd so I mentioned the thread on this website to him and he said he'd call his regional guy and find out about the other colors. I want to get some green ones as well. Also asked about the hard handled screwdriver sets. He said he was waiting in more information from SO and said he'd let me know when he found out. Apparently, the demand for hard handles is very high in this area as well.

Good news for Canadians!!!

That was my set. Got an offer I couldn't turn down in a couple hours of listing it so I ended it early. Got another request a couple hours after that for a set.
Personally I didn't dig the "racing" logo under the Snappy logo so I decided to see what the market would do. If I can get another set next week I'll be listing another set.
I noticed a green screwdriver was going higher than the truck price too right now,

I also got one of those last week.

My dealer told me yesterday that he couldn't get any as they are already gone. All of them... :shocking:

Can we now convince HQ that the SSDMR1 and SSDMR4 should always be available in a bunch of colors? And with the blade-holding-gasket setup of the SGDMRC handles so we can swap shafts and blades without having to do the modifcation ourselves? :)

With these new hard handles, can the SDDD42 be resurrected (Standard size, reversible shank, with #2 phillips and 1/4" flat tip)? Shanks are still available, but I don't know if the "bushing" that goes b/w the handle and the shank is available... These suckers regularly go for $150 on ebay. I'm not opposed to a little bit of lathe work, either, if anyone has a creative solution.
