I got an email from SO customer service,
"A while back you had requested when the above item would be available.
I apologize for the delayed response, but I have just received an
answer. This item is a promotional item and will not be made standard in
our catalog for purchasing."

So no hard handle sets from me. No way in heck i am paying some joker on ebay a commission for screwdrivers. Waht a dumb move, glad I we at GJ could help snap-on make a quick buck.

they have not had a chance to make enough for general stock.
it took them 22 weeks to make the first batch. they ran out in just a week or two and had a few hundred sets come back in stock and those went to fill backorders from the dealers.
blame the techs who see a dealer for this one. I sold 24 sets in all and need more. so you internet ordering guys will just have to wait in line. sorry

I called snap on customer service yesterday and had him look up the part# for the green set, and he said that they will be in stock on March 16th.

Any more info on these screwdrivers? They are no longer coming up on the Snap On website. The handles themselves seem to be very popular because they have been out of stock on a bunch of them for a bit.

it just takes them longer to make the older handles for some reason. I have been waiting for a while. I will ask the powers to be when we might expect some in...

Mr Shaun,

Do you know if the file handles are the same as screwdriver handles? In other words, if I buy some files, can I order these handles to use with them, or are the file specific handles different and therefore driver handles would not work?

It really depends what you personally like. You could use the size 5 or the size 6 handle.

With the size 5 handle you would have to cut the shank of the ratchet a bit for it to fit right.

Personally I think the size 6 is good for 3/8" LONG handle ratchets. That is what I have done and I have been pleased. I haven't done a short ratchet like an F80 but when I do I think it will be with a size 5 handle.

sets will be a while and handles will too i presume....
they were more popular than they had ever thought,

yah after using those garbage grip tri handles, everyone was convinced on the old 4 sided handles because they outlasted their newer grip designs :bounce:

my dealer sold out a few months ago and has yet to get any more. he says many are on order and none have arrived

my dealer didnt even know they are making them again.

Been getting conflicting info re availability on the black hard handles.

Are they available or just orange/green/red?

Anyone have any insight why all the hard handles are out of stock on the website? I'm needing a red #6 for my 1/2 ratchet and all in all colors seem to be out of stock

I bought 2 orange hard handles about a month ago, my SO guy was sceptical, but after awhile they can in. Also you can still buy 7 piece hard handle screwdriver, got a new set in green.

for example, THLFD72R and FHLFD80R ratchets shows 0 quantity online. But I have ordered them from my snap on dealer 2 weeks ago, 1 ratchet came in.

Best bet is to check with a dealer.

I gonna ask my dealer about the hard handles when I see him, might order 1 if he can get em.

They do not, I have tried calling them to buy them many times. Got to get a mini screwdriver/pick and sacrifice it if you want the handle
