I believe that's just an instinct stubby hard handle, like on the stubby screwdrivers and not an "old school" hard handle.

The only point I was trying to make is that they are releasing new tools in the hard handle design. If Snap on was going to do away with the hard handle design all together I would not think they would release new tools in that design. If you look at all the different designs (hard handle, instinct soft and hard grip) they still offer it appears that they have not made up their mind as which direction to go.

well........they never offered a soft handle stubby. all instinct sets included hard handled stubby's. it's most likely that they didn't see the need for soft grips on them.
