Anyone have a list of the bits in that bit set? I checked the website already and they don't list the contents of the kit. I figure I have most of them already so I was wondering what I don't have from that set. Thanks

my snap on dealer is old school NON franchised. Apparently he doesn't participate in the flyer program ...

Yep, my SO driver is also old school. No contract, no "franchise" in the modern sense. But he's got a territory as an "independent dealer." I wonder if they allow this type of thing any more, or if he's grandfathered in. I'll have to ask.

Anyone that gets a route now is a Franchise or a Company store. He is grandfathered in, without a doubt.

I wonder if he sells the business, if those terms he has continue with SO.

From what I gather, there are certain advantages to having that type of old-school route over a Franchise.

By the way, he wasn't surprised that SO "encouraged" (if that is what indeed happened) the two dealers here to take off the links to their SO pages in their signatures.

I don't know exactly what all are the benefits or drawbacks of not having to be a franchisee. From what I understand, independent dealers and the franchisee can have anything they want on their trucks, or is this not correct?

I wish my dealer would do the Snap on monthly flyers, he does the RWD ones, but I have made a few impulse purchases from looking thru the monthly flyers that my MATCO dealer gives me.

Not any tools subject to hard useage, or that would 'contaminate' my Snap on sets, but useful odds and ends, that make the job at hand easier or faster.

from what i understand, independents have a bit more freedom to sell what they want while franchises have to stock only snap on authorized stuff. However franchised dealers probably have more benefits with the corporate.
