I'm low on #1 Phillips screwdrivers. I have one Snap-on, but it's the 3 inch shank and the old black hard handle that's no longer being made. I could use a few long shank #1 Phillips. You guys that have the Instinct screwdrivers, what do you think of the #1 Phillips handle? Too small? Too big? I was looking at Klein, but they don't make a #1 Phillips long shank.

Id say the #2 hardhandle fits about the same volume as the #1 instinct, with the number #2 instinct being like a jumbo/sumo

#1 handle is just a bout perfect. the number 1 tip is not as good as witte, tho.

Snap on should do the option of getting #2 drivers in the #1 sized handles, they pack alot better but still give you the instinct shape which is more ergo than the hardhandles.

T45 - I know this thread is about #1 Phillips, but would you say the #2 Phillips Instinct handle is larger than necessary?

The #2 is larger than necessary it's huge like a #3or#4 handle on others I hate it way to big but is that way for more torque they say. I like the Matco or older Napa Witte screwdrivers the tips are better the #1 snap on blade ***** I've had to replace mine twice because of cam out. You can buy Witte not rebrand or napa ones on eBay cheap even Matco. I liked the older instinct handles better but they are huge also on the bigger drivers but the #1 even on the new style is perfect and it is possible to change handles and shanks if you order them.

Usually when I need a number 1 I grab for the mini like (pick handles)
Because usually this is a very low torque and on some form or circuit board

But the instinct full size are too big at times why I switched to all hard handles for me too

IMHO, the Instinct #2 handle is a 'problem solver'. Wether or not its a good everyday driver depends on your needs. If you have the $$ and box real estate, then its maybe still an essential option. If you need a mobile toolkit in space/weight constrained contexts, then IMHO hard handle.

Consider the Instinct 1/4 square driver handle (#2 size handle). It will routinely take off/on m6 HW at 10NM. But that is ph3 torque spec, as alluded to above. I really like the instinct driver handle, but the TM4CSA is also a classic and a much smaller form factor (w/square drive build into the handle).

Thus the GJ recommendation borders on 'Buy Both'. If you have the needs, the $$$, and space, etc. For those of us on limited $$$, space, or weight budgets, the Handhandle P2 and 6,4.
