I can understand adding the F80, but replacing the F936 is borderline criminal. I plan to keep my F936 until the day I die...although if I like to feel of the F80 I will probably pick one up - I'll just have to ensure they are kept in separate drawers of my toolbox so that a fight doesn't break out between them.

I never understand why people like the F936 so much. It just feels sloppy to me. Sure it might be one the the strongest ratchets but I cant stand how rough the ratcheting mechanism is. And the 10 degree arc.

If you need a smoother one, then grab it. I've got a fair variety of 72-tooth Matco's I like, but my F936 is the go-to ratchet.

I just bought a 936 yesturday..did SO say when these would be replaced?
I really like the 936..really put it thru its paces today at work disassembling a CAT..I have the long handle as well.,I've got an older SO Racthet with the hard plastic handle that is my main ratchet in 3/8 but the 936 is great..wasnt sure I'd like the soft grip either...being that it will get coated with Diesel Oil and Fuel..but after teardown today she wiped off real nice. Thanks for the info.

The F936 is not available from the web site anymore, I'm sure there are still ton's of them in the field though. They are going to phase out all of the 936 version's in time. Just like they did with the 936 series replacing the 830 series.

If you have had one with a rough mechanism it probably just needed oiled, all of mine ratchet like butter!

So why the hell doesn't my Dealer have any of those ratchets yet??? He has a waiting list for them, yet has not received any.

No that is not what they mean by sealed, Sealed meaning no liquid will seap in or out, I alway's lube my ratchet's when I get a new or second hand new one.
