Snap On KR-24 Resto

Started a small restoration on this box I picked up at an auction. The box was pretty beat up when I got it. Started with bead blasting to remove all paint and rust. Someone had pop riveted in some extra pieces in the tool tray, so those were drilled out and the holes were filled. The lock hasp was broken so I bought a new one and welded it on. Still have lots of dents to hammer out and fill. I was thinking of adding some internal corner braces to give this thing a little more rigidity.

What type of primer / paint are you going with?

That's just Tremclad Professional fast dry bare metal primer, probably under Rustoleum brand in the US. Unfortunately the Rustoleum "Sunrise Red" is not available in Canada, I may get some urethane mixed to match Snap On red.

Took a while but I finally finished this box. I think it came out pretty good considering how banged up it was. I replaced the handle with a new one from Mcmaster-Carr. I painted it with single stage urethane. I went with RAL 3000 "Flame Red" which is a pretty good match to Snap On red.
