alright so im 17 and i have a 3 peice stacking craftsman box but a teacher at my school is selling a kr 560 for $600 but im going to offer him $450, anyways, i know that box has all friction sliders exept the bottom drawer that is ball bearing, is there a way to change the friction slides to ball bearing or is it worth it? i was thinking maybe the ball bearing slides from the 660 would fit?

Highly doubt it. Friction slides use different engagement slots than the roller bearing slides. The ones on my older Snap-On boxes are actually spot-welded on.

wont work,
nor is it worth it.

ive only replaced 1 set of friction slides since '86..

and SO warrantied them....

if the box is in better than average condition, it's probably worth $500-$600

Yes, ball bearing slides are nicer.

No, they're not necessary. Somehow, techs managed just fine with the friction slides for a hundred years. Only one of my twenty-five boxes have ball bearing slides.

Maybe, photos would help determine if the box is a good buy at $450. How old is it and what was the truck price new?
