hey guys,

Have an opportunity to grab a KR-660, price is $500, and Im throwing him $50 for delivery. There is some minor rust along the bottom edge, heavy oxidation on the front, lower right hand side on the 2 bottom drawers, and some minor dings. The appeal is I have a matching KR-*** 36" wide cabinet (cant recall model) whcih is similar vintage (early 1990s).
Not sure I can get the paint clean on this, but most units like this where I live are double the price. Appreciate some feedback

Is it exactly what you want?

If so then it's a great deal.

I'm not being sarcastic but $500 is nothing when it comes to brand name tool storage. If it's exactly what you want and all the drawers function as they should ...

Go for it

If you feel like in 6 momths from now you might think "i should've" went a different direction then don't get it.

Boxes are something you should be very sure about.

On the other hand, if you think you may like it, and pretty sure you can sell it for what you paid, why not try?

I think recoup of $500 is possible, my real preference is something like the KR-661 with the taller, single drawer across the top. I've moved to vertical socket storage and the shallow top drawers are a pain. But I do need the space regardless

I believe the 660 has bearing slides versus friction. I would be all over that.
Correct, this box, and the other one I own which was off the truck...both have the bearing slides. The box is excessively heavy

There was one for sale in the Denver Area in about the same shape going for $1,000 about a year ago. So, my thoughts on the price is more than fair and you know that it's built like a tank.

The mechanical condition as far as functionality, is awesome. Cosmetics are bothering me more than anything
Why? You setting up a booth @ Sema?

Paint it if you want and fuhgetaboutit.....

For $500 this sort of seems silly. I'm not being malicious but a brand name box for 5 bills that functions as it should ....
And cosmetics are holding you back?

A Trophy wife isn't cheap. $500 and works as intended...

Suddenly the question seems silly
