I bought this KR that is WELL used from the local Snapon dealer with a brand new set of drawer slides that I was going to put in. Well the slides came in today and I put them on. All of them went in as they should, mounted the little 1/4 drive screws in the sides of the box and in the drawers. Every slide went in and works great with the exception of the large top drawer. it is mounted with the screws but it is 1/4 inch too high, it scrapes the top of the box and there is a 1/4 inch gap on the bottom. I will contact my dealer tomorrow but I thought there was maybe somebody out there that has the same box and the experience. THanks guys

$$$

It was very reasonable and with all new slides it will do every thing and more for what I will need on the farm. Im in less than a K top and bottom, the top is the jewel, a KR1100 in excellent condition. I needed a good box to sit it on till I can find a KR1000 or KRL1001 to match that top. Every one of those I found was either way too expensive, in worse condition than this KR761 and all were at least a 2 hour plus drive to look at it.

Well my guy did some checking and the top drawer on these early boxes did have different slides (I'd guess that was why this box was stuffed in the back of the warehouse for MANY years). And the kicker is that slide is no longer made. He stated that the company would stand behind the box and get me a different one but with this being a temporary till I can find a vintage bottom for my top box the dremel will be coming out to bring the notches down a bit in the case and make it work. Thanks Guys

Is that a customized deep drawer on the right or a different box designation than the same box with nine drawers?

I've never seen that deep drawer on that box before.

Took the Demel and cut the top drawer slots down about 1/8 of an inch and put the slides back in and it works like it should. The plastic drawer catch on the side will need some adjusting but I might just take it out, the box will never be moved from its spot. Now for the work of moving everything from my 40 wide 18 deep box that was overflowing. I also added the double plug and USB on the front like some of the new boxes have.

Is that a factory KR761 in black? It hasn't been repainted? I didn't know the KRs came in any color beside red. Different colors started with the KRL line.

KRs come in multiple different colors. I had a Royal Blue KR761, which I replaced with an Aqua KR761/KR791 combo (like the 57 chevy box). Both are factory colors.

The top drawer slides were made by Accuride, and are no longer available. As of a couple years ago, it was SOP for SO to replace them with different non-accuride slides. I assume that accounts for the difference in height, but could not say for sure.
