Snap-on KR1000 Parts help

I recently found a 1988 model KR1000A on Craigslist. Picked it up late last week and spent the weekend tearing it down to clean.

I have found that I am in need of a few parts. I hope someone here knows where to find them. I will call Snap-on service tomorrow and see where I get.

The parts I need are: drawer detents that keep the drawers closed, handle (I have the 2 'end' pieces, I just need the center bar), and new casters

I have read a few older posts that guys were able to call Accuride and get detents. Has anyone done this recently?

Thanks all for the help.

Welcome to the KR1000 club! We will need pics...

Call Accuride, they will get the slide parts, great company....I have some posts on here about it.

Jorge is the guy I have dealt with a few times, he will ask for pics of the slides to determine what you need. Email is [email protected]

Thanks for the quick reply! I will shoot Jorge an email.

Pictures to come, it's all torn apart right now as it was VERY dirty.

I just replaced all the detents on mine for free through Accuride six months ago, so you shouldn't have any problems doing the same. The only issue I had was the rivets sent to hold the detent rollers to the slides on the large right side bottom drawer were too short, so I had to order a set of rollers from Snap-on to get the right length rivets.

That's great news.

As I do not have any detents still attached to the slides, can you explain how the detents attach to the slides? I am guessing they just slide on, except on the bottom right drawer?

Thanks

They pop onto the metal tab that stick up... just look where the slides hit as they close and you will see the tab.

Still working on the clean up process.

Thanks to all for the replys. I can't wait to get my tools moved into this box.
