Picked up this 1991 KR1000C for $750 a few weeks ago. It replaced a really rough and rusty kr557 I bought in high school for $100.
I fixed a lot of mowers and trucks out of my old box but it was time to upgrade.

It needed most of the drawer slides replaced (thanks snap-on customer service) and a good cleaning. I think it turned out well and will last this DIY grass cutter another 30 years

That’s a nice score, well worth the money at that price.

I have a soft spot for the KR1000. I think it was one of the best toolboxes ever made.

I’ve got a decent shape one that I used as an industrial maintenance mechanic for several years, was a fantastic toolbox. I should give mine a cleaning and shine mine up, it deserves it.
