Yeah I hope he e-mails back. Does anyone know if it has ball bearing slides? Also I think the Kr1000 is the matching bottom box. Correct me if i'm wrong, but those are extremely strong boxes right?

He didn't leave a phone number. I e-mailed him. It's been up since yesterday, I'm hoping nobody grabbed it yet, but at that price I'm sure somebody has.

I saw that one. If I was not so busy, I might have chased it down. Good luck.

It's a big one in pretty nice shape, it does need a lock cylinder, everything else is there. Yes it does have ball bearing slides, I was out there tonight, I bought the Matco, it was new, the guy was a former Matco dealer.

It was still there at about 8 pm tonight.

If you go out there bring a good flash light (and a big truck) the tool box is in a shed with no lights.

I just looked yesterday at a 70th anniversary Snap-on box that looked just like this top section. It looked brand new and never used. He as asking $3K and I kind of thought that was a steep price as it is a very old box. Should I call him back up for that price?

Not sure, I didn't get the number. It had the gold eagle on the bottom right. Deep 30" or so drawers. Ball bearing slides with detents.

Sorry man...I hate it when that happens but I say the same thing as you...win some, you lose some.

I wonder if someone from garagejournal snagged it?

Your back will thank you.

Here's the Matco box he was selling (and I bought):
