Does anyone have a first edition 1973 ish KR537 top box? Does it have the side door cover like the later versions? According to a catalog picture as well as a first hand account, the early 537's did not have the side door. Thoughts, experiences, pictures? :dunno:

As always, thanks

Here's a picture of a 1973. I sold it recently for 50. No door.

Wow, things have changed. "Largest of the Snap-on chests" is 32 1/2 by 18!

$50 are you serious! I would buy those at $100 all day long!

I have older SO boxes just had them rekeyed so they have one key. I got them from the Truck, I might have 2 ASM with key laying around

Ha ha, yea crazy. What is even more hard to grasp these days is back in the 30's and though most of the 40's a top and bottom combos were ~43" tall and shorter. Interestingly enough though the 26" wide tool box standard started back in the 30's and has stuck up till this day. How did they decide on 26" wide then 12" or 18" deep in the first place? :dunno:
