This Snap on kr560 box is a $350.00 find, that I got on craigslist from eastern Connecticut. Time to disassemble and remove stickers.

Sat outside tarped and started to get surface rust. Needed to sandblasting and sanding.

It's got to be at least 30 years old. The slides are mostly friction and one ball bearing slide on the bottom draw.

Check for the manufacture stamp on the back. It will be a slight engraving, should be on one of the upper corners, and will give you the two digit year it was made. Mine's a 1985 and has the same friction/ball bearing slide combo.

Welcome
Congrats on the box
***** on the rust from the rain, but at least you have the blaster.

About the absolute oldest that can be is 30 years. I'm guesssing late 80's to early 90's for that one. As Lookin' said, it will be satmped on the back side.

As for the paint. Lots of folks on here use Rustoleum sunrise red. It is a good economical solution. If you want the full on perfect match, I think SO still sells paint by the quart, but ouch $ wise. :shocking:
