I think I mentioned a couple years ago that I I received a Snap On KRA-307D. It is a 1972 and has some surface rust from sitting in storage for many years. It also has a dent in the front corner of the box. I will post some pics when I get over to my dads shop. I was going to restore it a couple years ago but it got put on the back burner for a while. Now i think it is going to be a father son project for my son and I. My question is whats the easiest way to remove the drawers from this box and can i get a replacement lock as my dad drilled out the old one because it was locked when I got it and did not have a key. It will be some project but the price was right. Free!!!

Don't you just love when someone else uses the top of your box as a catch all.:willy_nil

Here are a couple pics of the project. Time to bring out the blaster and wire wheel. :thumbup:IMG_0025.jpg

I got to start working ton the box on friday. I got all but the top drawer out. I also found a couple of tools that fell under the bottom drawer. Here are a couple of pics of the dent I have to work with.

Finding tools are always the little treasure hunt I enjoy when I bring back a box to the house.

The friction drawers are a pain to remove at times especially on an abused box. I would like to say that your project will be easy but that box looks like it will be a fight. I'm stripping the paint off a 1973 box and I would suggest aircraft stripper. It is making it pretty easy to take the paint off.

Good luck.

I would spent the time and effort on that one, being a 31" box. With that much rust and paint issues, you might want to consider having someone blast the frame and drawers. Mechanically stripping that much is not going to be fun.

What box are you working on now FJ432?
