Snap on KRA 40B tool box

Anyone have one of these small tool boxes?
They are only $20 from snap on. It is the perfect size for a small amount of hand tools, without being so big it gets too heavy from all the stuff in it.

Here is mine. I modified it to hold exactly what I need:

It comes the usual red, but I stripped it and had it Cerakoted - Sniper Grey.

Good job, that is really well put together. Does it have a handle? I'd have to add a handle somewhere for convenient carry.

Ya I had thought that too but I'm still on the fence if I need one. A friend put one on the end rather than the top and it seems to work out nice.

couple of questions
is the inner tray metal ?
proper hinges on the back or just folded tags?

It's made in China, but I imagine you guys have figured that out from the price.

If it's anything like the original North American made KRA40, it's just a plain box. No handle, no latch, no dividers, no tray, and somewhere in the neighborhood of 9-1/2"L x 5-1/2"W x 2"D.

Hinges:

Box unmodded (except handle)

Stock box (except latch & handles)

This is all I can show everyone I know has a modded one.

The trays we made out of .040" thick steel. Seams were welded.

I ended up putting a handle like this on mine. Made it out of .375x.049 stainless tubing. Installed thread serts in the end to screw it into the box.
