Anybody have a set like this? Do you like it? I picked up a set like this a while back with intention of fixing it up and selling it. Now thinking about keeping it since it's bigger than my old 26" boxes. Put in a new set of slides. Drawers slide easily but do seem to have a bit of movement left to right when opened. Is this normal? Do they hold up under load? Slides were completely shot when I bought the box but have no idea how long it took to get that way.

This isn't my set but it's like this only black.

Also saw this listed on ebay for $575. Worth adding? Suprised it's only 2 drawers...

I like that the box is wider and deeper than my current boxes but not sure if I will like not having at least a few smaller drawers.

Any advise is appreciated!

Thanks.

Thanks. How long have you had it? Any issues with the drawer slides? Do you have much weight in it?

Thanks! Good to hear. I added a second set of slides to the bottom drawer. Thinking about adding a set to each of the 4" drawers too... would only be about $180 for 6 more sets of slides...

I have this exact set in orange..mine was canada built with casters and slides being usa made..today its china..if your set is the old good set i would keep it and i would never pay snapon $4500 for a china box...yes the drawers move a luttle side to side..its 40 inches wide..these are great boxes especially the older ones when snapon cared about its lower priced units...

Ps..the taiwan slides are remarkably decent ....accuride may be usa company but they started to cut corners before the shipped off some product to taiwan...

Thanks. It's older Canadian made. Slides were USA but new ones are Taiwan. It had a ton of tools in it when I bought it and the slides were completely shot. Unfortunately I wiped the boxes down with lacquer thinner when I got them and it dissolved the factory stickers but I do remember them saying CA. The boxes are black but the trim is this awful purple fading to red. I'm sure it's 1990s, LOL. Thinking about buying the brushed stainless trim, but I'm sure it would cost more than a new HF box, ha, ha...

They all do that. Even the $20,000 Epiq does that.

Sometimes you're going to have to reset the slides by pulling the drawers all the way out to their full extension stops. There's a guy on YouTube complaining about the drawers on his Epic not opening all the way. He just needs to tug on them hard to reset them.

Thanks. I guess it's more noticeable on the wide drawers. I'm used to my old 26" boxes, LOL...

Load on the slides is almost required on the KRLs I have. I got the red version of that top/bottom, $600 because it tipped over and bent some trim.

Beware, once you go to deep drawers, you can never come back to those 20 inch drawers that don't pull out all the way flush.

I use mine as overflow for my main box.

So rearranged the drawers a bit, put all the small ones on top.

Also made some drawer liners out of outdoor carpet.

Going to work on filling it up tomorrow.

I have the 4108 2 bank top. I’d like to upgrade to the full width drawers. There is a set on local CL for $550, I need to enquire before it sells.

I’d love to have a mid section, but can’t wrap my head around the price they get, when I could buy a whole nother set.

Don’t listen to the guys that tell you that you can’t put anything in them because the drawers aren’t deep enough, or that they won’t hold up in professional use. They’re just jealous;-/

My problem wasn't with drawer depth, it was the height. None of them were as tall as advertised so I ended up returning mine.

I Bought one like that new in 1998. It was a great box that I traded in on a Matco 8525. Kind of wish I had brought it home instead.
