Hey, long time lurker, first time poster. Been looking for a small tool chest that is still high in quality, and so far one of the better looking options seems to be the Snappy KRA2055. Just curious what people think about it, the fit and finish, drawer movement, etc. Do the drawers self latch like bigger boxes? The only boxes i have any experience with are Craftsman, Kobalt, and Husky, and i just don't like the way the drawers feel on most of them. They feel..... cheap i guess? Idk. Any info would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I have the 9 drawer version but exact size

I like it okay but for the money I think you would do better to get a roll cart instead.

I'd love to just get a roll cart, they seem like a much better deal. Unfortunately, i need it to set on top of a desk. Any other 26" suggestions would be welcomed, too. Looking for quality, nice drawers, etc.

I'm not arguing against the SO, but take a look at proto for other options. Last I knew they still had a good variety of 26" top boxes.

There really aren't many options for a good top 26" chest these days.

-HF 26" is really good for the money.
-Waterloo has a few.
-Kennedy makes a few nice ones out of their mechanics line, but they are about
the same price as a snap on.

If you can swing it and plan to keep it for a long time I'd just go with the snap on. Their modern top chests are very well built with all ball bearing slides. Plus you get a true life time warranty.

Awesome, thanks guys. I really appreciate the info!

I did take a look at the HF based off of what I've gathered from searching the topic on here... wish I could just buy the top box, but I suppose for the cost I could find somewhere to store the roll cab or maybe just sell it.

bobcatdan, I'll check out the Proto boxes. Thank you for your recommendation!

26" top chests come in three different depths, the common 12", the rarer 14" to 16" and a 18" which is a large, heavy box

I was looking for a quality 26" top chest that was about 15" to 16" deep couple of years back and the only choices I saw were the Snap-on KRA2055, KRA4059 and the Gray 93106.

I asked the Snap-on guy about the KRA2055 and I don't think he sold any in years. Everybody wants a tool cart or larger roll cabinet.

Having said that, they are a well built box with good quality ball bearing slides. As long as you don't keep it in the back of a pickup, it would last a lifetime.

perhaps consider the masterforce 26" or the 30", good construction, proper full length drawer lever latching system, 18" depth, 4 color choice and 11% rebate for next 6 days . Lot of little box for the money .

Between my father and I we have 5 kra2055 boxes. All of them are close to or 12 years old. We are very happy with all of them, it is a good box.

ps We are both full time mechanics so they get a workout.

they are well built, but like others mentioned, there are many lower price top chest that are just good as snap-on.

nowadays even big market store tool boxes are well built.

i bought snap-on tool box, because of the discount. otherwise i would got something else.
