Alright, so I'm starting to shop for a new toolbox to upgrade from my three piece Homak set. I'm looking at the Classic 78 with two wide drawers vs the new Mac Tech Series 50" also with two wide drawers (can't find part number, not in catalog yet I think). For quality and functionality, what should I go with? Are there other comparable boxes I should consider?

I've been reading all the threads I can find, but not too many people talk about the Mac boxes. New KRL's aren't really in budget, and craigslist is kinda dry in my area. Also I live in Canada, land of no Harbour Freight stores or Matco dealers, so it narrows my options a little.

Thoughts?

I envy you. Those two boxes are pretty close IMO, but unless there is a huge price difference, i'd go snap on. Better resale when you want to upgrade later, and an otherwise solid box, of course not KRL or Macsimizer solid though.

I would go on a road trip and grab the damaged epiq thats in the classified section!!

It would actually work, I don't need to be moving the box around a lot. Too far though haha

I can get the Mac for $4200ish, but I'm pretty sure I can get the Snap-on even cheaper. Both the dealers in my area are good for deals, but the Mac guy is much more reliable.

Mac # is MB1004. Anyone using the single wide drawer versions of these boxes? Are there any benefits to it?
