I recently bought a Snap On drop front chest, I was told it was a KRA 610 model. It has 9 drawers. It is in fairly good condition just needs cleaned up.
Approximately how old would this model box be? I am guessing early 70s??
The lock is with it but is disassembled. If this is not the correct lock would parts still be available for it? This is my first Snap On box. Seems to be a nice heavy duty unit.

It's not a KRA610, it is probably a KRA61 C or B then there should be a USA... and two digits say 79. Those two digits indicate the year it was made. They came out in the 70's and were produced till the mid 80's.

photo added, it has 6 small drawers and 3 full length drawers. The lock mechanism is included but not installed. I could not find an identification stamp or tag. perhaps the repaint has covered it up. Where would this be located.
Box is in good shape and drawers work well. Me and my son plan to sand and repaint with a decent paint job.

It is stamped on the back, lower left corner as you are facing the back. IIRC. So it was repainted, I thought so from the ad. What did you end up paying for it if you don't mind?

Wow, he came down that far? That is surprising.

Actually check the lower right hand corner as facing the back of the box, brain fart in my previous post.

Finally warm enough in the garage for a close inspection, The stamp looks like KRA 610, or the 0 is poorly stamped C
