You don't need the special tool. Use a 90* plastic trim tool and put it on top of the slide and wedge it between the slide and box wall. This will push the slide far enough away to disengage the tab that holds it in. Then smack the bottom of the slide up with your hand and it will pop out.

I have an SPP837 and I've been all over the house trying to find the invoice---still looking. I'm pretty sure I had to phone the order in because the tool wasn't listed on snap-on's website. It was only about $8 and it's super high quality. For as much trouble it saves, it's worth at least double that in my opinion.

If you just want to borrow one shoot me a PM and I'll put it in the mail.

If you are the original box owner call customer service, they'll send you the repair parts under warranty, and may just give you the tool.

First you need a tool. Snap-on makes one, but I just use this, part of a 5 piece trim removal set from Princess Auto:

This is in a new KRA, but yours is the same design:

The tool "installed" in the removal position. Lift up on the end of the slide in the direction of the black arrow. Note the position of the tool lined up with the rectangular hole.

The slide pivots about the points in yellow circles.

Good Luck! (It's really easy once you've done it a couple of times.)
