Hello all,
Looking for some advice on second hand Snap-On KRL boxes. I have my eye on a few but would like to know if anyone could clarify how the warranty works. Does is follow the serial number on the box?
Thanks in advance,
Mopar

They have a lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship for the life of the original purchaser.

Based on their policy yes. Seems like they would be in a position to help or turn you away as needed and you would need to understand. I'm betting they would assist if asked though unless you're asking too much.

So if you buy a used box the warranty will not apply?

What exactly are you trying to do? If all you're wanting to do is replace some slides, take them off and mail them in for replacements. If you're trying to get the whole box replaced, that's not gonna happen without a receipt.

IF you are buying tools for your Snap on Man, he will most likely warranty slides as needed, but is not obligated to.

I bought a KRL box used. The casters were heavily worn. I contacted Snap On with part number of casters and model of box. One week later, UPS dropped of four brand new casters. I didn't even mail in the old ones.

It doesn't get any better than that, and why Snap On will always get my business.

SO has been rejecting mailed in warranty claims without prior authorization.

Yes, you need to call them first. They will give you authorization, and if they want the old item back, they'll send you a UPS sticker. I would guess for a drawer slide or top shock, they will want the original items back. With drawer slides, I've heard they will not warranty a slide that is worn out, but if it's broken they will.
