I have been wanting a Snap On box for a long time, yesterday my dream became a reality. As I just picked up a 1997 cranberry colored 72" roll cab model number krl 1003. It is beautiful. It currently has the brass colored flat keys shaped like a pentagon. Key code is kz036. I was wanting to know if I can swap the locks over to the newer style tubular lock cylinders that use the snap n wrench key. I just love these keys. And wanted to know if it was an upgrade I could do or if it required major modification to the box or just was not possible. Thanks in advance

I think it should be a simple lock cylinder swap.

An assembly like the one posted above would work. You will need to use the pivot from your old lock since it is not included. Critical parts needed are a key, lock, lock barrel and spring retaining clip.
