I am looking at getting a new box to upgrade from my Craftsman and have narrowed it down to a KRL1033 and KRL1023. My question is how sturdy the 70 in top drawers on the 1033 are. Looking at them online a drawer that long looks like it would wobble around alot if it was loaded down. Does anyone have either of these boxes that can help me out. Thanks

All of the drawers are pretty flimsy when there's weight in them. On my 1033, a few drawers even bent and broke off, even when loaded with just 20 or 30 pounds. The casters are also prone to getting flat spots if not moved every 12 hours. The powdercoat will also chip if left in the sun for more than a few minutes. I would not recommend the KRL series boxes.

Obviously he's got nothing to do but spew lies. A krl is kinda the gold standard of toolboxes.
Drawers bending and breaking with 20-39 pounds? That's just horse ****. I stand on my loaded drawers all the time to reach stuff above. Never have they broken off or bent.
I have an older (5 years) krl 1032. So I have a bunch of drawers that are 56" long but I do not have the one that spans the entire 72" on top. Nonetheless, the drawers are loaded and slide in/out great.

I was kidding, not trolling or lying (you could also call it sarcasm, or dry humor. Unfortunately, both of these forms of humor usually fall on deaf ears when heard by the less bright, less fun people. Unfortunately). KRLs are OBVIOUSLY not wobbly, NOT prone to breaking, DEFINITELY are solid boxes... if I have to spell it out for the dimwits. No sense of humor around here at all. Obviously a KRL is the best way to go in a box. I have a 722 myself.

Dry humor is hard to tell in print. People got on your case simply because there are some members who bring nothing to site but to rail against SO every chance they get. This site is a boarderline a SO fanclub and some don't take kindly to SO bashing if it looks like trolling. Had we talk in person and heard the inflicken in your voice I sure I would have picked up.

To the original poster, it might seem backwards but I have found with KRL boxes, they get smoother the more you put into them. I have a 1023 that is loaded to the gills in the top two drawers and don't have a problem. There are also two heavy duty guys (Freightliner) that have the 1033 with their usual socket load in those drawers without an issue.
