Snap-on KRL1033 Top Drawer Question

I just picked up a used KRL1033 and had a question.

How far is the top drawer supposed to open?

I pull the draw out and it stops about 6-7" of being fully open (compared to the other drawers). On the right side the sliders stop completely. On the left side it will still move.

I figure I have an issue with the sliders but since I just got the box used I am not sure which side.

Compare it to other drawers. It should extend just like the rest of them. Sometimes, however, the ball bearing slides sort of bind up where all the slack between the slide guides and the balls will keep it from rolling perfectly. This usually causes the drawer to not extend any further. I have always had it happen the last 2 inches or so, but if the drawers are empty and especially recently transported / shifted around unloaded with tools, it could be worse. When it happens , just give it strong tug to the fully extended limit. You will feel the definite stop. This happens to the most used drawers on every SO box I have had.

On mine it pulls out all the way. Sometimes it seems to stop about 6" or so short, but just pull evenly and it should open all the way.

Same thing happens on a half a dozen drawers on my KRL1023. Warrantied out all the drawer slides 3 months ago, no difference. Annoys me as my KRL 7003 never had this issue. Coworker bought my old 7003. I get jealous every time I open one of his drawers

I bought a used KRL for $700. A couple of the slides are a little screwed up, bearing retainers are bent, maybe a ball missing. Contacted my Snap On rep, told him I bought the chest used last week, and he's ordered me in new slides under warranty.

If you don't have a rep, call CS. I'll bet they'll give you new slides.

Thanks for the replies guys.

It was really stuck but I got it out. Lubed it up and worked it back and forth a bunch of times and it is opening fine now.

Another question. In this video here -

at 2:25 he opens one of the draws and there is a grey organizer in there with taps, drill bits, easy outs, etc in it. Does anyone know what that organizer is?
