Snap On KRSC 326 question

Today I took the mat out of my top portion of my krsc326 cart to clean it and saw this hole underneath the mat, anyone know what it’s purpose is?

It's a secret escape door for a 10mm socket once it decides to run for freedom from the closed box!

Not sure, but may be a holding spot for very long extension (30")?
