I have one and I love it! That being said, the size of this thing makes it a little too big for a regular roll cart. I just leave mine parked next to my regular box and I use one of these for my "roll cart"
If I were to buy that box you are talking about over again, I would get the one with the sliding top. It ***** when you have tools sitting on top of the box and you have to pick the top up to get inside.

I have the SO KRSC326, a little narrower than that one. I LOVE it! you can get the matco MSC series carts and they are USA made i think but they are like 2 grand for a cart similar to what I got for alot less. I had looked at matcos new cart with full drawers but its not built by them anyway. Cornwell has a very similar unit and its overseas built IRC.

I have the KRSC31 as well. I really like it. The KRSC40 is just to big unless you are industrial maintenance or something like that that is a long way from their toolbox when doing most jobs. My boss and another co work had the KRSC40s. They aren't very stable loaded up with tools and another co worker accidentally flipped it over. It didn't take much. Other than that, they are a very nice cart but I wouldn't buy one. It defeats the purpose of having a cart.
This will be used as a main box. I won't need anything bigger for a while. I already have a matco cart but it doesn't have enough space to specialty tools.
I'm getting the KRSC31 for the house. It's the exact same size as my matco and it will be perfect...

I've been eyeballing this cart for a few days now and really thinking about it. I was just wondering if anyone had it and what they thought.
This would replace my Matco cart..
I am going to be ordering that same cart from my Snap-on guy this week. I have been looking at everyone's service carts and this one just seems to be the most well-rounded cart for what I need. It aint cheap, but you get what you pay for, and it's built in the USA! Quality products will become extinct if no one buys them.

The KRSC40 and KRSC46 are a great value. Snap-on calls them service carts. They are really a hybrid between a service cart and a tool box. They are built just like a KRA4107 but they have the top section with the lid. It has holes in the sides of the top section that you can use to store long screwdrivers and prybars. I personally prefer the KRSC46 over the KRSC40 only for the fact that the 46 has more drawers. I have several guys that are using these carts as their only tool storage.

I did it, I ordered it. But I ordered a slightly different model, I ordered the KRSC416FPC. It has 6 drawers and the flat sliding stainless steel top instead of the pop-top lid. It's gloss black. It has the same dimensions as the KRSC40. I kinda wish it had the 4 drawers with the 12" bottom drawer, but I was told that model has been discontinued. I will post pics when I get it. Snap-on claims it's country of origin is USA. That's what I'm talkin' about! I got a good deal on it too, since my Snap-on guy loves me, which negatively affects how much my wife loves me. But she will get over it.

It arrived! Last Friday, actually, and it's beautiful...
It's pretty big, but not too big. I'm going to order up a second set of swivel casters to replace the two fixed casters, but otherwise it's perfect. The casters are semi-soft so it rolls super smooth. It's made in the USA! I haven't taken a picture yet, but I will do so tomorrow. My only gripe is that it took forever to get. I guess they are making these as they are ordered. The packaging was top notch. My dealer just drop-shipped it to my workplace. I'm 100% pleased. Pictures are coming soon.

I'll post pictures of mine loaded in the morning. I loved it at first but it filled quick. Looking to sell it or trade for the 46 soon. The bottom drawer is REAL deep and only really good for cases. Would much rather an extra two drawers. Great box despite the fact.

I love my KRSC40! Black as well, 4 swivel casters, double handles, stainless drawer guards, and bulk storage upgrade. Does yours have a hole in the top section (under the lid) for a power cord of a power bar? Very handy.
I use the box for my primary storage at work (bodyman). It's getting a little crowded, but I think if I re-arrange a little bit, I can fit more tools in.... or stop buying tools (yea right!). She rolls like a Caddy when it's got some weight in it... and I roll it around daily, our shop layout is the pits.
I love how much stuff you can buy for these carts. I've been thinking of adding the accessory panel and hanging my impacts/power tools on the side, or putting a side cabinet on it.

I was thinking about asking for that for Christmas this year. I have no need to roll a big cart around, as I am only a shade tree guy working in a two car garage. I'm not in a hurry so it's not a big deal to pick up a few tools as I need them from my roll cab. However, I think it would be nice to be able to just keep a ratchet and a couple of sockets and wrenches that I know I'll have to use for a job right next to me in a neat fashion without having to lay them on the ground. I especially like how it can be raised up for working under the hood. How do you like yours?

I'm a tech supervisor by trade so i dont work in a shop but i have a 65, 68 and a 72 as a well as the daily drivers that i wrench on as a hobby. So i probably could organize a lot better to cram more stuff in but i like keeping some tools in their original trays and displaying my SO's. The craftsman box is a LOT more crammed. Just choose to not with the SO....that and it's more expensive to fill it than the craftsman

Alright, here's those pictures I said I'd post up. My CRAFTSMAN box next to my SNAP-ON is the 40" with a top box. My KRSC416FPC is about as wide and deep as the CRAFTSMAN bottom box but definitely taller. My CRAFTSMAN box holds all my SAE and other tools I don't use daily while the SNAP-ON serves as my service cart that I roll around the shop from car to car. We are a Japanese service shop so the SNAP-ON box only contains my metric wrenches and sockets among the other tools. I love this box. LOVE IT!

Thanks NJ, i've had it a little over three months, brand spankin new, and it's taken me bout that long to fill it piece by piece. Few things a week. Seeing everyones boxes/collections keeps me inspired. It's like i'll never catch UP!!

I ordered a brand new SO KRSC46 this past week for my home shop, I wanted the KRL722 deal, but just couldn't make sense of the high price right now... But my dealer gave me a great deal on a trade+cash for my KRSC31! Hard to believe I had all this shoe horned into such a small cart, but I had a few extra hours this sunday morning, so I thought I would unload and clean the tools up, get them ready for their new home! Anywho, not trying to hijack, but this thread really influenced my final decision to get the 46... Cant wait! Thanks guys!

I also recently upgraded from the KRSC31 to the KRSC46 and sure am glad I did.

in case he hasent decided yet, more proof these things rock. this is stolen from the service cart thread, but its my "box". for my age and the amount of tools i have, it works great. ive added two wrench sets, few sockets, and organized the plyers better sence then.
now for the "box"
i try to keep the top clutter free for the most part. computer speakers for my ipod, jacket, charger for the screwdriver, flash light, change and shop hat for when it rains.
personals drawer, place for my wallet/phone/keys, snap on/matco catalogs, magazines, receipts and such.
socket/ratchet drawer. big 1/2 sockets on top, pos hf 3/8 swivel sockets, 1/2 extentions, sae 1/2 and 3/8 impact sockets, sae 3/8 and 1/4 chrome sockets, couple 1/4 swivels, special 3/8 sockets (spark plug, o2, 12 points, ect.), triple square set, pos crows foot set, bunch of allens, bits for the electric screwdriver.
wrench/screwdriver drawer. screwdrivers i normal dont use, non ratcheting metric wrenches, sae wrenches, line wrenches, small stubby set.
plier drawer.
misc. drawer. drum mic, screwdriver/pic set, mini surp belt tool, pullers, rubber mallet, scanner, air hammer, air drill, cut off tool, pickle fork set, volt meter, trans line disconnects, punches.
set/boxed stuff. iirc, hf ball joint press with extra set of adapters, infer red thermometer, exacto knife set, filter socket set, snap on pressure tester, matco brake retactor tool, crank pulley puller, snap on pulley puller, hf screw extractor, matco crank puller for dodges, snap on rethreading kit, hf snap ring plier kit.

New box has arrived! Brand new black KRSC46 Made in the USA at the Algona factory, took about a month, from what my snappy guy said they have a bit of a backlog from moving the manufacturing of this box from Canada. Anywho, Love this thing, its big, much more room than my KRSC31... The only downside in my opinion is that I wish this cart was available in the KRL-Masters series paint/steel standards. Its sturdy (built like a Heritage Box), but its no KRL... It should be fine for my purposes, this box is in my home shop...
