Is that a new box. I think there should be more drawer options on the initial purchase, like Matco. There is a new krsc box I think krsc24. It it more square similar height, but not as wide and deeper. Also the drawers are different 2-4", 2-6", and 2-8". IIRC. I want a cart with drawers all the way to the bottom. I want to see how this compares to a krl1056 but have not taken the time to do it yet.

KRSC246 is the deeper one. 43 has two sliding shelves that act as the top. All the carts seem to be based off the Heritage series. I don't entirely get their pricing. 43 is the same as a KRSC46 and is priced $200 more due to its sliding top. KRSC246, while deeper, is significantly slimmer and as a result is similar in storage capacity and is $700 more.

You can customize the drawer layout and colors through a dealer, the former costs a little extra.

Yea I think it cost extra because of the stainless... either way my dealer said he would give it to me for the same price as the krsc46.

I am looking to purchase this cart as well. Does anyone have experience customizing the krsc40 series carts in terms of changing the drawer layout? I know there is a thread posted on GJ with various mods done.

I wanted to switch to the 8"x2" swivel casters p/n 8-30439ar and:

drawer layout to be:
4 2" drawers
3 4" drawers
1 8" drawer

Any help would be appricated as my Snap-on guy is fairly new and I'm concerned he may not know the correct procedure for ordering a customized item, esp a newly offered cart. Thanks for any help and advice.

Also, having 4 swivel casters makes these things really squirreley when moving them around

I have a Matco big cart and a snap on and I LIKe the four swivels better than 2 swivels, 2 fixed of the Matco. Makes it much easier to maneuver

I know the this discussion is old, but I'm really considering starting off with this box. I just had some concerns like is it too tall to work comfortably on the stainless steel, is it too heavy to roll around the shop, what are your pros and cons on this box.

I put 2nd set of swivel wheels on it so I can push it in any direction. It is used for my diagnostic and electrical tools so it is not that heavy. Rolls with very little force.
Also put the upgraded handle so steering it in tight spaces is needed by me.
Do not work on top it collects stuff, but same height as my KRL 1032/33 units, but when I work on drill press on krl I use a stool.
My KRSC100 is a little shorter but will hold 2k lbs and has a track box on it rolls with no issue.
I can not think of an issue rolling a loaded Snap On box my Taco kart was overloaded and some times with heavy stuff on top getting it to roll was a push. But once in motion you could hurt somebody or damage a car if you were reckless.

KRSC43 split lid

I'm 6' and I comfortably work ontop of it. I got the stainless top so I could solder comfortably on it. It's great for writing on work sheets as well. It's not too heavy to push around depending on how you have your drawers setup and how even the floor is. I made a side piece that bolts onto mine to hold a power strip and all the chargers for my tools and lights. If you have a modest set of tools, it will hold them and organized too. The one downside is if youre stuck in a corner, the slide out sides may hinder you. If you want any pictures or have any questions feel free to ask, I've owned mine since they first came out I want to say 2-3 years ago.

They roll really well, I've had a KRSC40 (same size and basic dimensions but 4 drawers and a flip top) for years now and used to roll it all over a large shop with no issue. One place I worked I had to drag that thing about 100 yards back and forth across a parking lot some days with no problem.

As far as it being a good fit it depends on where you work. Gotta keep in mind that when they're slid out the tops make it as wide as a double bank tool box. I worked in a small shop with a guy that had one of these and I was constantly having to shove the lids closed to get through the shop if we were working alongside each other. Wouldn't be an issue in a bigger place though.

Thanks for the replies!. I'm 5'8, so not sure if this would be an issue with working on top of the box. I will say that since this might be my first box I'll have my entire arsenal in there. My shop is not small, but thanks I didn't even consider shop space.

@SuzukiGS750EZ If you don't mind showing us some pictures of your box, this would be much appreciated!

Sure, I'll go take some now for ya. Standing up, the box top comes about 3" up past my belly button. Should be fine for you. I can lean over it and rich the back with my elbows.
