Which do you like more? Anyone have/had either or both?

Capacity difference? Open drawers without having to open kid?

Accessories?

Thanks GJ!

I have the KRSC46 and absolutely love it. Great "cart" if you have the space. And yes, you can open the drawers with the top closed. The only thing the key locks is the top. Once in the top, there's a lever to unlock the drawers.

My only Matco cart experience is seeing a few coworkers with them over the years. They're also nice; can't really go wrong with either choice.

I am owner of jsc750 and love it.. It has 140 lbs slides and 280 lbs at bottom drawer as double slides.

I was consider about snap on as love the lock and roll latch but trade in value was ruin it which Matco dealer offered me twice much as other dealers offer for my Msc4...

At MSRP the Matco is the better buy as its a bigger cart and has a deeper till, more color options also. Through student discounts i think the KRSC is a couple hundred cheaper which muddies things a bit.

The only problem with the jsc is the fact that its so new i dont think Matco has really introduced any addons as of yet while the KRSC has tons. Though personally, beyond side shelves and such, i dont think that matters much. Things like side boxes/lockers are so expensive and make the cart so huge you may as well of purchased a tool box.

I've got a KRSC40 and a co-worker has a JSC750. The casters on mine are quieter rolling across the shop floor and I have the snap-on drawer detents vs. matco's. I move around the shop multiple times a day, having to lock my box every time would be inconvenient as hell. The work surface on the top of the Snap-On is better as well, IMO. I prefer the rubber mat to the stainless on the Matco.

He didn't have it very long before being involved in an accident that's put him out of work till early next year so I can't really speak to the durability of his cart. Mine was a repo when I bought it (for half of msrp) and I use it every day and it hasn't faltered yet.

Buy whichever one you can get a better deal on or the one you have a better dealer for if buying off the truck and you can't go wrong.

I finally got a JSC-750; price finally came where I bought. plus no snap on guy (apparently he just goes where he wants in our area). its nice looking, tons of room, I mean seriously to work out of this thing as a cart with your more essential tools there is a TON of room. this would be an awesome home box.

I like stainless tops cause if you need to put something on top like a transfer case or whatever no big deal. sure it scratches but its a tool itself.

the top I wish it would latch and stay closed without having to lock it and unlock it.

the drawers do open separate from the top so if you unlock it you can use all the drawers and keep the top closed forever if you wanted.

it is pretty reasonable quality, it is silly they say its made at the tool box plant in jamestown of the same stuff, well why no lifetime warranty? my driver says the tool boxes are but the cart is not.

it rolls real nice, I don't have it weighed down with that much in it but it feels like it would roll easy with quite a bit in it

If you can live with a few less drawers, I think MAC makes one of the best carts around. The
MACSIMIZER CART (MB1305UC). What makes it different is that the top splits in the middle and slides left and right. So you can not only access the big top bin, but you will have two small stainless steel "benches" to put things down while you work on them.

The area below the drawers is great for putting plastic cased tools you use regularly. If you're in a shop where you don't need to lock everything up at night, I think this would be an ideal cart. The workmanship and sturdiness of this cart is excellent.

Thanks for the responses. I looking to upgrade my current 2drawer Matco cart(unsure of model number) and the way we have our boxes arranged there's not enough space for a true double bay box like I like. So I was looking into one of these 2 "carts" unsure of which one but my friend got a krsc used and loves it. My Matco has been a trooper the past 5 years but im tired of having tool piled on top of each other in the 2 drawers lol.

Any one have a pic of the jsc750 in use?

I looked at a Snapon classic 60 roll can used but I feel these carts offer more room

No MAC dealer within 100 miles of Toledo that I know of, I've never even seen a mac truck lol

Cornwell just seemed cheap. And over priced.

Might be able to fit a us general 44 box in my space but coming from Matco already im sure it will feel very cheap.

i had traded in my old matco MSC4 as 600 dollars into JSC750, it got paid off in two weeks... i did research around between snap on and matco, my snap on dont have one to display while matco guy has it in his truck for while as i did "eye" on it and love it since i has still own a MSC12 as at my garage.. i did use MSC12 for few months at busy ford shop, it is hassle for me as top slides.. so i took it to home and use msc4 until all drawer slides got bad and casters are bents, frame got warp... so it is time to trade in.. i know the snap on sell it cheaper but trade in value was not what i would let it go with snap on guy so i did discuss with matco guy for 2 weeks and i decided to bought it with his trade offer which it is much best than other tool truck offered... so far i am happy with my JSC750 and i has almost most comon use cases of tools or speciality tools storage in bottom drawer! i had not use my biggest main boxes at work as i had to keep it locked because other techs would prefer use mine while they dont have it!

We'll I talked to.my new snap-on driver, as I switched locations(same company different shop) about a krsc46(flat black w/black trim). He offered me $350 trade in on my msc2-ti cart and mcs4c cover. I couldn't remember what I paid for the cart originally. Which would bring the krsc down to 1200 dollars. Then factor in financing /interest and his quote for a 3 year $25 a week payment. Final cost was just over $1900.

Just looked up my cart new and it sells for ~$550 + cover is ~$70.

Good deal bad deal? Should I see if he can do any better?

Also no longer have a steady Matco dealer so snapon is basically all I have, our Cornwell dealer's prices are absurd for all their Rebadged stuff.

I just bought an extreme green and its pretty nice. I chose it over the matco cuz my dealer never really cut me a good deal on it.

On the Cornwell have you ever checked out their CTBMM800? It not bolted together like their 700 series, it's welded and very nice. I would own a Matco referenced in the OP's question but don't dig the side wells, the way the have the middle prybar/ratchet/screwdriver holes turn me off.

Get the krsc46. I think just the warranty is worth the difference. And this is coming from someone who owns the JSC-750. It's amazing how some dealers act like 10% off is like the max they can give and they are doing you a favor for even considering it. And other dealers deal way deeper on the discount.

Just talk to the snappy dealer tell hm you are wanting one but also shopping a Cornwell and Matco and you feel they are working with you more discount wise. Competition is good

I don't have a Matco dealer in my area so I can't say anything about that end but I can say I absolutely love my KRSC46. It rolls around my shop effortlessly, I love the lock-n-roll drawers, it holds more than what it should. To me it was a great investment and would buy again if I had to.

Time to bring back an old thread haha. I've been torn between the two as well. But in my opinion the 46 is the way to go

I'd go the 46. I think between the build quality and warranty you'll be happy with it. I had a 46 but now I got a 246. Good luck on your decision.

The 246 is the sliding top? If so not a fan of them, use prefer just the folding top.

I recommend the big Cornwell cart over both it really is the best deal around 24 inches deep too while 40 inch wide and more hole on side than snap on not sure of Matco

But the snap on will have the highest resell if you ever want to trade up thou

246 is a 46 that's slimmed in width and fattened in depth and for some reason adds on a $600 premium. No sliding top.
