Hi, sorry newbie question here. I have an opportunity to pick up a 3 year old KTL1022AZ that is in green. Seems to be in good condition. WIth one dent at the bottom in the back and a small paint chip. Has liners and keys. Drawers seems to slide in and out OK. I talked seller down to $2000 and just wanted to get a second opinion before i go grab it. I have 2 Icon 73" boxes and I love those. Never had a Snap On box though. The 29" deep is a bit more than the Icon's 25" and I like that. What do you think? Is this a good deal? And would Snap On honor warranty if I am not the original purchaser? Thanks.

Is that combat green .
Does it have a worktop of any sort as that adds to value, would ideally like a worktop on it and liners be A1 condition to pay 2K but the snapon boxes do hold good value and proper tidy boxes at sensible coin don't come along every day.

Technically by the written rules you don't have warranty as non original purchaser but snappon generally pretty good and you likely get a set of slides or lock via warranty if speak with right representative .

I guess 2k pretty fair if it proper tidy, hopefully dent minor and possibly could be dollied to improve if desired .
Personally i prefer 25 to 26" depth as find deeper pain when drawers fully out, kind of what you get use to though and very much individual preference .
If you really need it then it a fair deal & will hold better used value than ICON boxes (always nice buying used truck boxes as potentially loose no/little value) .

Thanks. Yeah, it looks very good condition. Of course I will have to see it in person too. Not sure if this will be any better than the current Icons I have but looking forward to owning a SO box.

The 29" depth is a game changer. And it'll last you a lifetime. The same can't be promised for an Icon, they simply haven't been around long enough.

Good luck!

List price on those is between $11k and $14k, depending on the colors you like. $2K is almost so cheap I'd be suspicious it's a scam for a 3-year-old box. Proceed carefully, no cash handed over until you have the box.

If you're concerned about such things, you may ask for proof that it's paid off.

I paid around 2k for a ktl1022 once. It was out in the sticks and the guy had trouble getting anyone to look at it. I got the SN and called snap on to make sure it was legit and not reported stolen or had a lien on it. I absolutely loved that box. The depth was super awesome. Had a 42” top and bottom that fit in just the ktl1022 and had drawers to spare. I highly recommend them.

I am in the Snap On Toolbox group on FB and I asked a few people and it seems most of the paid anywhere from $5500 to $6500 for these KTL1022 brand new off the truck. Nope, this is complete legit. I rented a trailer and no cash exchanging hands until I go grab it but I have seen pics and videos the seller sent and completely legit. He moved and had no need for it any longer. I will post photos when I take it home.

I didn't know I can call Snap On and ask that. I will do that. Thanks.

Most clued up buyers are 5 to 7K off the truck pending on spec, seen some good new deals off truck box when they got stock they want shift .
2K is pretty good price but reality is it quite a hassle hold out for likes of 3K as get lot of buyer hassle if it sat on used market for fair time.
If you got 2 to 3K cash & prepared travel a bit & can haul a box it pretty easy get one within a few months if you actively keep looking .

Hope the deal works out ...

Well, I took a trailer with me and took her home. Everything as I had expected. There are 2 dents one on each side of the box at the bottom and a small paint chip on the bottom drawer. I have the green touch up paint that Icon gave me so maybe I can dab a lil of that there. as for the dents I don't really care since the box will go against the wall with an Icon both on each side anyways. I am very happy with the deal. I thought $2000 was a good deal. It is a KTL1022 bought and manufactured in 2018. To be honest, now that I own a Snap On right off the bat I can't say it's any better than my Icons. Will see how it goes as I use it. I am done with buying boxes. Between the 2 Icon 73" I got plenty of storage now. Thanks for all of the feedbacks guys. I appreciate it.
