snap on l78 ratchet

Here are some pictures of my snap on 1 1/2" drive ratchet and l55 breaker bar. the handle is new but i took a chance on THE BAY with the ratchet head thinking maybe it was worn out but as you can see it turned out to be unused.

These are my ratchets 1/4" to 1 1/2" i keep in my road box for field maintance, the 1" drive is koken as is the spare 1/2" i keep for helpers to use the rest are snap on the only thing is i wish they were all industrial finish.

I'm wondering why the 1" and 1.5" ratchets don't have longer handles than the 3/4".

the l78 seems to be a reliable and well engineered ratchet (whether in a brawl or laying into some very loctited nuts) maybe why they stoped making them
moose this picture might show a bit of difference in length and diameter of them the 3/4" drive is 15/16" and the 1 1/2" drive is 1 3/8". its not so much how long they are but how much flex is in the handle, on the 1 1/2" i add 10' of pipe if needed. as for the 1" drive koken it dosent have the same feel as the snap ons so its not used much.

This one shows the difference between mid duty 3/4" and extra heavy duty 1 1/2" with a 1 7/8" socket.

Snap-On dealers; do you guys know why they discontinued the 1-1/2" drive ratchets? They still have sockets and a T handle, however! Maybe they figure everyone uses a impact instead of hand tools with these sockets?
