Has anybody got experience with Snap-on lifetime guarantee in Europe?

I need some friction-slides for my Kra-379a and I hear that you can get free replacements in the U.S.
Somehow I don't think it will work that easy in Europe.:dunno:

Thanks.

Having lived in the US, Canada, Australia and Germany I know that not all companies back their product the same in each country. The local laws vary but my guess is that they will replace a defective tool.

Are the part numbers the same in the UK the same as the US.

Go to the Snap-on web site and check the numbers. While there you can contact them and get your answer.

I think you will be safe with Snap-on backing. Some Snap-on dealers are very hard to deal with and it makes replacing things difficult. I have gotten replacement but it took pulling teeth and a complaint to the home office.

I tried to replace my snap on screwdriver with a broken tip here in Slovakia. Actually stopped a snap on van (first I've seen here) and gave it to the guy to see if he could replace it. About 5 months later I met him again and he gave me back the same broken screwdriver and said the warranty doesn't apply in Europe.

It's just like it is in the us. If you have a sales invoice, I think corporate will help you. If you are a regular truck customer, your rep will help you. If you have no rep and no receipt customer service could be hit or miss.

I buy a lot of snap tools on fleabay. Even if I don't get the great warranty, I still have great tools. I generally don't mind paying retail for repairs/parts.

My Snap On rep was Ok in the UK, he would always help you out.

The lifetime warranty did apply.

I have seen him tell idiots who have obviously abused things to "do one"
But I think that's fair enough. You can't educate morons :)
