Anyone have the snap-on led? How is it?

I have four of them and they work well, I put one on the Craftsman tripod stand. These are well worth the $29 and if you buy one and don't like it..... return it!
COSTCO is the best!...... And they just opened one in Flemington, NJ.

I saw this at Costco a few weeks ago. I regret for buying it back in September via Amazon for $14 dollars more. But, this light helped me immensely in the suspension work I was handling then. I'd buy another one, but I already got a hold of other LED light sources :D

I have 6 of the snap on lights. 2 of the early 1600 lumen models, 4 of the 2000 lumen models that are in the store now. They are by far the most for the money. I have the CAT light too, comes in handy for projects since it's cordless.. I recommend both..

I also bought a 6 pack of dimmable LED bulbs with the candelabra base. 45 watt replacement and they are very good. They actually dim down to nothing and have a nice warm light for inside. Gonna buy more for my outdoor lights..

And for those that don't know, craftsman sells a 56" tall tripod for either $14 or $19. With a little modding people have come up with a couple different mounting options. Husky also sells an empty tripod as well now, but the craftsman is nice and tall, and the red matches the snap on light color perfectly...

Snap on light is great, been dropped a whole bunch of times, still works perfectly.

Dropped it so far once that one of the feet broke off. Welded it back on, no harm done to the actual LED component.

The best thing about using the Snap On light is, it is great for wrenching cars and it does not get hot like the halogen lights....... I have used the 500 watt halogen lights for years and have burned myself on them. You can place the Snap On light right next to the work area and not worry about shattering the glass or causing a burn hazard. At $29 these are a bargain and use less energy than a halogen.
BTW! Don't throw away those 500 watt halogens just yet...... Use them for outdoor lighting or a "spot heat source" like thawing frozen pipes, diesel engines, defrosting power windows, etc.

Kctyphoon didn't you buy another, less popular led light a few months ago? How's that one working out?

This one?

It's a 10,000 lumen floodlight I got off Amazon. Thing is pretty awesome to be honest. I think the name it's sold under was RuggedGear or something similar.. bought the XL tripod from Ohio power tool. It was part of an area light kit some guy created that's being sold on there, and the tripod is available as a separate piece. I paid $60 for the tripod through them, and honestly all it is - is a $20 or $30 DJ speaker stand with the mounting plate for the speaker on top.. you can get basically the same tripod off Amazon for less then half what Ohio power tool is selling it for..

I leave this light in a locker at work so people have something to use at night.. that one light will light up just about all the space we need to put a new pole in..

Does anyone have pictures or more info on the CAT light?
Found this video.

I purchased one of these some months ago when the OP mentioned it in another thread.

It came in handy yesterday while I was rummaging around in a dark storage unit looking for a couple of items. With the fold out stand I could position it on top of boxes or on the floor and aim it at the area I was targeting.

I do wish it had some sort of provision to hang it up and aim it as I find applications where it needs to be above head height and aimed down at a lower area. In the storage unit I found a clothes hanger and fashioned a hook to suspend the light from one of the steel beams.

I leave it in my truck toolbox and charge it once the meter gets down to one light.

So far it has proven to be an excellent value for the price.

The Snap-On LED won my Worklight shootout:

Also if people are interested I can put together a little performance and review video on that CAT light in the next day or two. I've got it right beside me here.
