Anyone use both or have any opinions? Im wondering id the 100in lbs is going to be enough torque vs the impact version that claims 50 lbs. I know there are other brands you guys rave about but snap on comes to the shop making my life easier.

Basically id be using this for light car interior work and exterior work like tail lights. I know that sounds like weak work for a screw gun but anything exterior on an old car usually means a rusted bolt that requires some torque. But the impact might be to much. Im looking for something ballanced for both i guess and thats probably the none impact version with its variable speed.

TIA, guys.

the screwdriver is all torque and no impact. so its better for screws and the impact is better for breaking bolts. i have the NiCad screwdriver and its works fine for dash bolts and stuff like that so im guessing it would do just fine for you but i also really want the 1/4 drive impact wrench for more torque and so i dont need the adpater to use sockets. but if i were you and looking for a 1 size fits all tool id go with the impact screwdriver.

I have both, the screw driver is good for interior and minor exterior work. The impact is good for a little heavier interior work like the bigger bolts 10mm and above, and also good for minor engine and ****** work.

Thanks guys, I have the 3/8 lithium impact already so i guess ill go with the screwdriver. My biggest concern was if it was going to have enough power for rusted exterior bolts but if there that bad ill probably end up using something else like a handled driver for better precision.

Thanks again.

I've got both in NiCad (can't stand the exterior lights on the lithium screwdriver), an awesome combo to have if you do a lot of interior work.

Saves a lot of time when doing dashes or headliners not having to constantly swap back and forth between phillips bits and a 1/4" square drive adapter on the screwdriver, not to mention forcing some bolts loose and risking damage to the transmission (which is plastic).

For the price of the singel snap-on you could get the pair in 12v Bosch set up and be done with money still on your bank account.

We use the Bosch 12v's on the mfgr floor 8 to 10 hours a day at least 5 days a week.

No problems at all. We love them and issue them to new shop techs and assemblers. Batteries available all day long.

And this is mfgr. Not a auto repair shop that see thier use 10 minutes a day.

Outside of the 14v and 18v impacts and drills I cannot warranty the excessive spending on Snap-On battery tools given the warranty and my tool crib barks about it daily (and we have a Snap-On industrial account).

Especially with the 7.2v's being sourced overseas.
Not S-O's strong suit that one.

Yeah i wasnt happy its not amerrican made but i got a nicad screw gun from a friend and really liked it so i said what the hell ill get a 3/8 imact for speed considering there is no hose to constantly plug and unplug. Its not supper strong but it gets the job done on the 1/4 inch stuff. I am now looking at the screw gun because i want to share batteries and charger. Im only planing to get the drive body though 2 batteries will be sufficent for all the use these things will see.
