Any feedback on the relatively new Snap On locking flex head ratchet with the redesigned locking mechanism? All they have in their online catalog is the extra long handle models. I don't have a Snap On tool truck guy, so where can I buy a standard length handle model?

Their new locking system is only available on the extra long 3/8 drive. I talked to a very high volume dealer about 1/4 and 1/2 drives as I am interested in extra long of each drive and was told the 3/8 extra long was done out of necessity due to the old mechanism not having the strength required for the extra long version and not to expect to see it on anything else any time soon. I'm not sure I believe that, and have been trying to wait snap on out to release new versions, but its looking like I may end up going matco. I even contacted snap on directly to see if they had plans to release other drive sizes/models but they were no help.

I have to check with my driver to see and feel it. I hated the previous version with the latch on the stem between the head and handle. If I had the head unlocked and bumped the lever while working on a vehicle it would lock.

I have a love/hate relationship with my locking flex head for exactly this reason. It locks itself way too easily

I only have one of this style. It was one of the first Dual80’s that I ever bought. I do not prefer it either.
