The only way you are allowed to post your eBay item is if it has a "Buy It Now" price. Any item posted must have a price listed, so with an auction w/o a buy it now, technically is no price listed. The proper place to list something like this would be the classifieds section.
Also, eBay items are sometimes posted purely as conversationally, typically not by the seller, in that someone might post something like, "Look at this guy trying to sell his toolbox for $45,000..." The proper place for this type of talk would any section besides the classifieds section.
