you tell me the mfg. year of the Snap-On tools w/ date code for each and we can tell you more.

It's a stamp of one number. And funky. But tells us all.

It's made in the USA. Look at the website it will tell you country of origin of every tool in the catolog. The USA stamp is being put back on ratchets and pliers on the new production stuff

I just got the Bahco 7750-3/8 for £15 plus £5 shipping from e-bay, It's dual 80 guts look identical to my snappy. No COO on it either but the packaging makes me think it was sent from the USA to the UK seller before it was sent to me. I don't know if there is a 1/2 version but I would buy another for sure, really nice chrome and the grip is nice quality too. It's etched rather than stamped but the head is very similar in shape and size to the Snap On.

When SO starts making tools in China & Tiawan....

Shoot me a PM so I stop buying from them.

Until then, unless it's stamped on there, don't wanna hear it lol.

This is one of those "Stir The Fire" threads with no real benefit. OP says he just bought SnapOn stuff but doesn't say where. Why not just ask his SO tool rep at the truck?? OP has Canada profile and US Armed Forces flag avatar.

Let's see this ratchet if it exists, AND, where did you get it. How much did you pay?? Show and tell time.

Um, you really want to ask a salesman, who's job it is to sell you stuff, to tell you information that can't be easily disproven one way or another. Seriously?

I NEVER trust any salesman. They'll tell you anything to sell you an item. "Yes, mama, you look great in that outfit" Haha.:lol_hitti

I warrentied top slides on my krsc416 yesterday and they were made in Taiwan. I was pretty upset about this. Not to mention that one of the new slides was bad.

Just too clarify my comment is in regards to the above post. The ratchets are USA made.

Seriously with all this speculation again? The vast majority of Snap On hand tools are made in the USA. Go to snapon.com and EVERY tool has country of origin on the bottom of the page. I bought a 4pc plier set and the box it came in said made in USA but the tools didn't have it on them. All the new production will have USA back on the tool.

No one can prove it is made in the US or overseas, so it is made where you want it to be made.

Global merchandising departments have done studies that indicate the "Made in USA" branding is a detriment in some parts of the world.

I'm quoting that because I can't say it any better myself. For the record though, the the Snap-on FH80 is indeed made in the United States, but as quoted, some parts of the world don't appreciate the USA stamp.

Weird. My FH80 I just got last week has USA on it. Not on the head like they were but on the shank where it says the model. It is a year 2013

snap-on mechanic gloves at autozone are made in india, and are still 30 bucks.....

That junk they sell at Autozone is 'Licensed Merchandise', like the flashlight/knife combos they had at Costco. Just generic garbage with the name printed on them.

If it's made in the USA it will say it. If not, then some or all of the parts were sourced outside the US.

Leatherman Tools had this issue. Most no longer say "Leatherman USA" on the head due to the fact that they were only assembled in the US.

As a businessman, why wouldn't you put a label like MADE IN USA when people will buy it over the competitor? There is always a reason why things are done and if your snap-on tool does not have it stamped, it is questionable.

Can I have a cookie now??

So will my Bahco 7750-3/8 be made in the USA or EU??

Look at it from a manufacturing point of view. They are not going to set up a new plant to produce the pawls, the selector and selector mechanism.

I haven't compared the drive gears like for like but would guess they are the same too.

The only part which can easily be forged and machined anywhere in the world is the ratchet body. But does it really matter if you are happy with it?

I honestly don't care where stuff is made, and I'm delighted to get a brand new dual 80 for 20 notes. I was just asking as it seems it was drop shipped from USA to Yorkshire.
