I work out of two matco 4225 boxes; one is really full, the other houses pullers; and assorted junk
The boss at work bought some monster box from the snapon man( largest size epiq i think, with lockers; hutch and over head, works out to 144") and traded in everything else
the snappy dealer offered me the 76" epiq with full length drawers and powerbank that the boss traded in for 4000 and my two matco boxes:bowdown:

i know the 76 epiq retails for 12200; and i know its sturdy because i ran a car into it....just wanted to make sure this is the great deal i think it is
i paid 1450 for one 4225 and 800 for the other 4225; so im looking at 2250 out of my pocket for them. He offered me 3000 for them in trade to bring the epiq price from 7k to 4k

im thinking its a great deal; the bosses epiq is in great shape and super clean, was just wondering if there were any caveats to watch out for

thanks

free silly pic(what google pulled up for 4225:3gears:

edit: its a 76 with a powerbank

I would say that is one hell of deal. I have seen/heard of some pretty awesome deals on eqips, but thats the best one. So what if it's used, it's what maybe 2 years old?

Im in the same boat on trading my KRL1022 for a KRL1023 with hutch..I honestly look at the weekly payment . I want a decent payment. Mine would go up to 50 from 30. I still want to be able to buy tools as well. I would say do it. As long as you can afford the payments i would the new boxes are nice and well worth it plus your eating some of that cost from trading in your others.

People are already trading in epiqs??? geez....

On a side note, if you want the box and you have the cash, I say go for it. ...sounds like a good deal to me.

You really really had to ask??? Yes let me see, if the math is correct you are saving something like 7 K or more. That is a decent deal. eBay has them right between 5-6K then you gotta get it shipped. Since yours is "Broke In" your words, ( I ran a car into it), and it is within touching and seeing up close distance, I say BUY BUY BUY!! Great box and you will not regret it! In a year, your only regret will be how come you didn't ask for Two!

Thats a hella deal if your comfortable with the payments I say go for it. 4k is probably 40 bucks a week give or take. $40 bucks a week for an epiq is crazy.

dealer already made the money on that epiq. so him reselling it is gravy money. it will pull 4k from you, and sell your trades off for another 1-2k if not more.

ask him if he would do 4k with out your boxes as trade. my hunch is he may. then you can try and resale your boxes to recoupe some to get cost down.

:bounce: Now that is mighty fine thinking

The only thing I would add, is that if not going to sale the boxes, save that old set for the home shop.

When I get a trade in I postit on Facebook where many of my customers can all see it at once. Trade ins only last hours, not days.... It might disappear.

It's a nice upgrade. I would go for it. You can save $40 a week by packing your own lunch.
