I am pretty sure the majority of them are chinese.

I'm pretty sure the majority of them are not. I talked to the guys in the factory here in Tennessee that make them. The only part that MIGHT be made in Taiwan would be the pawls but every one of them claimed they were made here. The removal of the USA from the ratchets was done by corporate but I'm sure they are not going to reverse that decision anytime soon.

Ask me in 2 or 3 years and I might have a different opinion however as I think that had a motive for removing it.

Do you really have nothing better to do but be the most annoying person on this board? Even my 3 yrold doesn't doesn't repeat the same thing as much as you.

Ill repeat as many times needed to sink it into some of the thick skulls around here. Or give the newbes a heads up.

People have the right to be informed is all

Without actual concrete proof what's the point?
:deadhorse

Just to spread rumors and or lies? If you can't prove without a doubt one way or the other you'd be smart to keep your mouth shut on the matter.

I don't have the answer either, but the difference is I don't pretend I do.

This dual 80 issue is really getting old. Nobody on this forum can say for sure weather they are made in the USA or not. I liked being informed as much as the next guy about the quality of a tool but turning every thread into a stupid debate that nobody can win is stupid. This thread started out about a guy going on a truck for the first time in 5 years and getting addicted to tools and turns into another ******* match over where the dual 80 is made. Ark is right there should be a sticky, or a whole new sub forum dedicated to the dual 80 conspericy and then not allow it to be brought up in any other posts.

Lots og guys love the dual 80s and a few hate them and no one can say for sure where they are made, so what is the point of arguing about it in every post on this forum?

did you get to talk to the hand tools guys at the SFC in orlando?

Sure did..... It was nice talking to the guys that actually work at the plants. The main ones that I spent some time with were the ratchet guys (they were glad to see me leave.....), the boys from the screwdriver, wrench and socket production facilities, the neat display setup with the guys from Sioux tools, the air wrench folks, the new portable smoke machine folks and all of the people in the diagnostics booth area. I also spent some time at the battery test area (and the new booster pack) and checked out the hybrid specific tools.

All in all, I spent 2 hours Friday night and most of the day Saturday (except for a 2 hour run to pick up the wife at the airport) going thru the show and dragging my dealer over to make sure he saw some things that I think will be hot items. One of those was the new tribal creeper and seat combo. The younger techs will buy them in a heartbeat. I just wish the show had gone on for a longer time, there was still things to see but I had to leave...

An alternate reality in a parallel universe.
yeah there have been dealers in the past that were popped for dealing off the trucks. Last one was in LA a few years ago

I know for a fact that a Matco dealer in the Chicagoland area does, the few times I approached him/his truck he was parked in parking lot near a McDonald's. I knocked on his door and both times it took him a few minutes to open the door and the truck smelled weird and was smokey. He acted all pissed that I bothered him, even when I was trying to by some 88 tooth ratchets. Going forward, I'm dealing with a different dealer.

Thanks for a new park for my sig line :)

Not sure what a "park" for a sig line is, must be a canadian thing, but your welcome.

Now why don't you do everyone a favor and start a single thread to show your disappointment for the dual 80 and quit posting the same arguement in every thread on this forum.

I don't disagree with you that the guts may be made outside the US, but neither you nor anyone else can prove this for a fact. It's really old when someone starts a new thread about something totally different and it gets turned into a debate about COO of dual 80 ratchets.

I"m really glad I could be the first person in your life to tell you that you are right and that you feel it was that important to "park" in your sig line.
