I recently purchased a vintage Snap On Master Analyzer that included 4 meters and an **** O Scope oscilloscope. Planning to restore them.
I would appreciate anybody out there who has any knowledge/experience with these to please post here with any thoughts/comments.
I know, the name....but hey, it was the '50's OK?

I did tinker a bit with a Sun brand scope once in the late 60’s to check ignition wiring but didn’t know what the hell I was doing. An older friend was teaching me how to do it and what to look for.

I am starting the restoration of the Master Analyzer, the Snap On Scope, and the KRA-315 roll cab. One problem that's to be figured out is how to remove the chrome handle from its mount so I can rechrome it. See photos.
Anybody out there know if it is possible?
Help!!

Sorry. I can't help myself.

I'll bet you can see Uranus with that thing.

Great comments!
Anyone have any knowledge of how to get that handle apart?

That's the question!!
I don't know!
If I did know, I could figure out how to take it apart!
Look closely at the close up photo of the handle and you can see marks from my Vise-Grips where I tried to twist the handle to see if it was threaded together. It wouldn't budge.
Really don't want to destroy it in order to save it!
Anybody out there have any experience with this?

I would try unscrewing it after a few days of soaking with penetrating oil.

Wrap the ends with duct-tape to get a grip.

I've been told that the handle does not come apart from the bracket and I think that's probably true. The result is that I will buff and polish it until I get as bright a finish as I can.
Oh Well..

FYI, in case anyone cares, I have come across an original Snap On **** O Scope operators manual. These are about as rare as any collectable item I've never seen!
Does anyone out there have a need for one? I've been thinking about reproducing it.
