What's the general consensus on the Snap On MG325 3/8" impact? Looks like it offers decent torque at 325, and seems to be reasonably compact. Any reason to pass on one under $65?

$65!?! Does it work?

Even if it doesn't you can send it out to get repaired for under $125. So for $200 or less you got yourself a great little gun.

Thanks, looks like I will be making an offer on the impact today. Looks like boots are pretty cheap on eBay, so I may even pick up one to match the 725! ;)

They are stronger than alot of 1/2 guns out there. Pretty loud imo. You can buy a silencer kit for them tho. I bought one off the SO truck and about two years later of shop use one of the dog bones broke inside. Our shop runs about 145psi so that may have been a factor. $25 for a new dog bone and it's good as new.

The mg325 is a great gun. Have 3 of them. Never one issue. Very powerfull and light weight. For $65 thats a steel. You could still send it in for $125 flat rate repair and wind up with a new gun.

Before I bought one, I thought I'd never use it enough to justify the price. After I broke down and bought one, I wouldn't want to show up at work without one. Get a complete set of 3/8" impact sockets and universal sockets and you will be one happy technician. The trigger is fantastic and and it is light enough that my wrists don't get fatigued after using it for hours at a time. It's small enough to fit between the radiator and engine when I'm pulling water pumps off 5.7L Tundra's, just as a specific example, and is truly a time saver! Strong enough for most bolts I've come across up to 21mm, anything bigger I go grab the half inch. You won't regret it!

As for the trigger being an on off switch.. I can feather mine perfectly, in both forward and reverse, and I love that it stops spinning when you let go as opposed to most other pneumatic impacts.

Use mine all the time. Hardly have to use my mg725. Like someone said above, get some impact sockets and impact swivels and go start takin stuff apart.

I bought one new off the truck. I broke after about 2 weeks.sent it in and its been fine ever since. I had to add the muffler which did put a little hurt on its power.

Definitely grab it for $65. I already had the cordless SO 3/8 so I bought one new with the 1/2 anvil (MG3255). It is my go to gun for tires and tight spots.

The 325 fits in some tight spots the 725 can't fit in. I usually opt for the smaller one if I am using air.

Mine got used all the time and I loved it but then I sold it to buy a green mg325. Shortly after I bought the 18v 3/8 impact and now the mg325 just sits in the box unless the cordless doesn't cut it.

Overall awesome guns and at $65 can't go wrong.

Well, I was a little mistaken....turns out it wasn't a 325, but a MG31. Couldn't convince myself to pull the trigger, so I'll keep my eyes open for an actual MG325.

Well, found an MG325 locally in pretty good shape, except the shop was asking $155...crazy thing is, same shop had an MG725 that they were asking only $125 for. Go figure!

Anyway, went ahead and picked up the MG31 from a different shop. Ended up getting it for $40, which I felt was fair.

What REALLY ***** about them is the power regulator. Need pliers to move the damn thing. Horrible design.

Seriously or you need to take a Torx bit out to turn the knob. I just set it to the lowest cause that's all I need for forward torque. Reverse has a ton of power.

Not as ergonomic as an IR but I would do it all over again and buy SO for 3/8.

I did play with a bit last night, it definitely is loud! It's not too bad, tough, but you can definitely hear it spinning.

Anyone know if Snap On offered rubber protector boots for the MG31? I can find them for the MG 325, just not the 31...

Is there an advantage to the trigger being the way it is?

I guess I don't Have a good feel of the gun yet because When I do real critical things with it I feel like I may snap or strip bolts or threads with this trigger...

so I usually go to my cordless ct8810 because i can feel the bolts threading in smooth as opposed to the feeling I get with my mg325
