As others have pointed out, change the balance/ heavy noise aspect of the impact. I would also like the handle angled slightly. Take the handle shape and angle off of an M4 carbine and it may fix the balance issue.

Mrshaun. I remember reading this thread years ago and by luck I just found it. It seems the cordless stuff was overhauled, but I was just curious if anything came of these suggestions for an improved 725?

Ok guys i have a mission for you.
when it comes to the MG725 what would you like to see improved on it.
any info would be awesome.
weight
trigger
forward reverse lever location - action
power
size of the gun width length etc
COLOR is not that big of a deal with me but i like to see the limited editions from time to time...
so put on your thinking caps and lets see what happens.
thanks
shaun

This is going to be long. I don't say this lightly. I say this from having much experience with impacts. buying, selling, testing, repairing, etc. This is my opinion of this gun. Take it for what it's worth.

What needs improving on the MG725:

Weight, noise, speed, torque output, optional muffler they include with the gun, power switch- thing is so stupid small and tucked away you can't use it with anything less than robo grip. Also, the quality issues are many with these. Some just lose power soon after they are new, some don't. The inlet seals are the worst I've seen, they leak, all the time. I've had them almost new, and already failed. Replaced many of those. This gun has a spot right near the top, on my least favorite list of impacts , to be honest.

They looks beautiful out of all impact guns on the market with the rubber grip and rubber top body but lack functionality. The power lever is so darn small!!! My fingers can't even turn that ribbed knob! Terrible design. I bought my IR2141 5years ago and since recently bought the mg725. Now that I can compare the both I can see why I always grab my IR gun. The speed dial and forward reverse lever and balance surpasses snap on. I would only use my mg325 3/8" air impact when it comes to air guns.

You guys know you're replying to a four year old thread, right? I doubt the OP is even a regular user anymore.

Who honestly adjusts the power dial thing? I've never adjusted it on any of my air tools. I personally think it's that's what trigger control is for

I may be the only one this bothers, but I don't like the "power" adjustment. I would prefer a lever or something that seems more indexed and easier to turn. Even if it was just a divit cut into it.

Same here, I have the AirCat Killer Torque 1150 and love the power/forward/reverse lever, mush easier and convenient to use. However I grab the MG725 first when wrenching.

mrshaun is still active on the forums, I see his threads or responses regularly from time to time.

I have the 325 and 725. The shop I work at has the 3/4 gun that looks the same in all aspects except the power adjustment knob on the forward/reverse pin has a small lever built into it making it no problem to adjust.

That simple upgrade for the 325/725 would make a huge difference for me because I have to use either a pliers or allen wrench to adjust otherwise

Why does Bahco get this and Snap-on doesn't?

Thanks for that. I bet the Bahco part can be grafted to the Snappy by removing the Torx bolt.

Assuming the orange lever can be had in the USA.

Bahco BPM915 is the 1/2" impact, BPM916 is the 3/8.

Pretty much every suggestion I concur. Sold mine and bought a proto gun and never looked back. The price is outrageous for what it is considering air tools don't come with much of a warranty. It is definately the best looking
