Hello all, I got this mic in a lot of shop calipers, etc and it sort of works, but i would like to repair it or see what caused it to malfunction
Symptoms: opening the thimble out, the last number skips and jumps. goimg in it seems to "count". I dont know who made it for Snap On, but it looks like Starett by the clutch , possibly B&S , and unlikely a Mutitoyo. The counter mechanisms are sometimes made by a specialty co. like Veeder Root for the OEM, but im guessing,
I cant see any setscrews. there is a plastic plug on the counter body, but its likely an oil port or cleaning plug. It wont come out either. There is no drag/resistance to the anvil or friction similar to feeling like a jam in the threads.

If anyone has fixed these or knows where a diagram is, please post a link, thanks

-My brief search yielded nothing. I'd contact Snap On for more definitive info. I've held/used a lot of mic's but not one of these.

If it is a Starrett they do have 3d parts breakdowns on their website. You might need to be a member to get access.
