I was given a SO MT2400 scanner. I have no idea what it is capable of. I know SO no longer issues updates for it, but does anyone know if I can check and clear trouble codes for ODB-II? The reference guide that it came with is really a joke. It explains nothing. Haha.

You can, as long as you have the right cartridges, these are where the limits are. If you work with vehicles from the mid-late 90's and have the right cartridges you are styling as far as the weekend warrior goes, i purchased a couple of them for short money and they have done me right with my 97 f-250 and even my mothers 03 exploder. It has troubleshooting capabilities, and some of them had graphing features I believe. So really its all about the software you have for it.

I really would need the cartridge for a 2003 Toyota Highlander, if one is even available. Is there an outlet to still buy these? Aftermarket maybe?

Also, there is no cable to hook up to the serial port in the car. Where can I get one of these?

Are you sure it's an MT2400?
That's the part number for the older Vantage Graphing multimeter. You won't pull codes with that.
The MT2500 is the older Snap on red brick scan tool. You'll need the obd2 cable with personality key and the right cartridge.

Fedwrench is correct. The MT2400 will not pull codes, and is meant to test sensors. It's mean use is to find out why a sensor is throwing a code. Very useful piece, mine has saved me a bunch of times.

Its def. an MT2400. It sounds like I will be better off buying an ODB-II scanner.

Anyone have any recommendations?
