I received my Snap-on MT2670 Scribe Printer today. It indicates a paper jam, there is no paper in it, however there is still a ribbon in it. It uses a standard 25 pin male to 25 pin femaile serial cable. Paper is Snap-on 5-7126 or Radioo Shack #26-1428. Ribbon is Snap-on 2-7366-2 ribbon (black).

I have the printer manual for the MT1670. I scanned it in and attached it to this post.

I found some typewriter ink ribbon on line, I will have to rewind it onto these small reels. I got the paper jam cleard and it appears tpo prine, but i have been unable to get it to feed any paper. I cut a sheet to 4.5" wide and triny to feed it through. It appears to me that the roller feeder is not rolling, I haven't figured it out yet.

Jim thank you so much for taking your time to scan the printer manual and posting it. My 1670 works on Counselor 2 but when I set it up for my Counselor 1 it does not do anything. But now reading the manual clears some things up. I don't know why Snap On complicated things on how to use the printer, just read how to use it on Original counselor mt1665 and it is crazy procedure.
I had the same issue with paper jam on my printer, what I found out that is snap on used some grease on the mechanism that solidified over time, so I used solvent like starter fluid to soften it up, then lubed it with very thin machine oil, after while it started feeding the paper.

A standard calculator ribbon is correct for it including the reels. No need to rewind it.

The same print mechanism is used in many different products.

This is what I used. No need to worry about half of it being red as the printer only uses the black half.

I wish it could print the scope patterns.

Not surprised that it can't as my Allen DEA can't. The Allen SEA can though but that was a much more expensive machine.
