I have to determine how fast my motor is spinning for the new cam I want to buy and the car does not have a tach so I figured I would use my old MT500 to do the job.I ran a couple wires into the car and hooked it up and took off down the highway but it was reading abut 1/2 what it should so I figured it needed a new battery. Put new battery in and it did not work right so I hooked it to the coil and it works right, how can 5 feet of wire effect the accuracy of this dwell/tach meter,I guess I will have too hook up a regular car tach to figure out how fast this motor is spinning.
