Just grabbed this for a whopping $25 on CL. No idea if it works. I know it's old tech but worst case it looks cool in the corner next to my Allen Tronic Oscilliscope. Looking for the manual for it and coming up empty. Anyone have one? Also appears that I am missing the Snap On badge on the cart itself.

Though I don't have a manual for you, I would like to say Nice Find! I use my Sun VAT40 all the time. There is no substitute for a legitimate load test on a lead acid battery IMO. Conductance testers just don't quite cut it in my experience.

I would suggest you contact Snap on about a manual. They are very helpful and nice to deal with directly in my experience.

I agree about load testers. My wife's Honda Pilot wouldn't start one day. I jumped it and had her take it to the local tire chain to get a battery. They have a reputation for good batteries. She came home and said they told her the battery was OK.

We were going over the mountains well over 130 miles for a wedding the next day. We loaded up all the seats and filled the back with luggage. The car wouldn't start again.

I jumped it and we went to the tire store. They used their fancy electronic tester and said the battery was good! I told them to install a new battery and save the old one for me.

After we got home, I went to the tire store and had the manager test the old battery with his fancy tester. It tested good again. I pulled out my carbon pile tester and it dropped to almost zero volts with just a light load. I told the manager that the only thing worse than calling a bad battery "good" was to be caught trying to trick someone into replacing a good battery.

I thought about trying to contact Snap-on directly but figured they would tell me to pound sand. I'll give it a shot. I was hoping to find some you tube vids in how to use it but can't seem to find any. It's too bad the Snap-On badge is missing because it's replacement will cost more than I spent on this whole thing lol.

Late update but I had contacted Snap On via email and they sent me the manual in PDF form. Great customer service SO.
